Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Aled Walters and the Philosopher's Stone

Porter & Moroni always look like centres playing on the wing rather than wingers. I wouldn't play Moroni anywhere but 13, he just shuts the outside channel down & probably means Nemani can go a yard wide to start with. Going forward providing we have genuine pace on one wing we can cover th...

Re: New Salary Cap Breach?

https://www.premiershiprugby.com/2022/03/15/salary-cap-investigation-into-leicester-tigers-concluded/ The "taxes" referred to are the overrun taxes as per the salary cap regulations. Nothing to do with HMRC. We were over the cap 4 years in a row from 2016/17 to 2019/20 but each season was ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Aled Walters and the Philosopher's Stone

Hegarty has played the last few games, but he's only appeared 8 times in the Premiership this season. He didn't start a Prem match until the end of January, so I reckon he's had plenty of rest this season. But he does have a tackle success rate just over 50%, so it wouldn't hurt to be open to altern...

Re: Newcastle (A) Friday night -18th March 2022 - PRC

It should be a combination of youngsters who are ready and first teamers who need game time and might still be needed for the last part of the season. JvP falls into both categories IMO. Kobus van Wyk is neither (unless he's been injured all season and is just coming back). The other Van Wyk could p...

Re: Leicester Tigers Academy 2021/22

We can see from the ages of some of the players we are bringing on board and retaining (Ashton, Gopperth, Green, Wigglesworth) that we are going, at least partially, down the moneyball route (or SB just really wants that experience in there). So it makes sense that we would do the same with youngste...

Re: Second rows

Seeing as we have won almost every match so far this season, I would say that "need" is a strong word. It would be nice to have 2 top class locks, but then you have to take the cap from another position on the field. The reality is that if you look at any club in the league, they will hav...

To add to the general pendant attitude.....

All the games are "live" when being played....
I don't recall any discussions about jewellery :smt017

Re: "Afters" - Foot on line at throw ins?

As TigerFeetSteve has pointed out, both feet need to be touching the line, not behind it. It doesn't need a referee to confirm that, it is simply what the law is. The diagrams show the lineout thrower being a foot or so behind the line, that's just to make it a simple illustration - if they showed t...

Re: 6 Nations 2022

Seems odd to bring Jack Willis back in so quickly. I get it with Launchbury and Manu, because they are proven top international players - Willis is not and he has been out for a very long time. I thought he was ok against Saints but not a standout performance.

Hard to judge on that, the coaching team have all the data throughout the match that we don't have access to.

Re: 6 Nations 2022

It's almost crunch time, and the good news is that Damien Penaud will surely be in France's starting XV! It'll be a win for les Bleus , but maybe not by the margin that some have spoken about. Can't wait! The beauty of sport is that no outcome is certain until it's happened. If the French team are ...

Re: "Afters" - Foot on line at throw ins?

To be honest I'd be very disappointed if referees started pinging hookers for being 12 millimetres into the field of play. If we start getting that pedantic about the laws then every game will just be 80 minutes of whistling. Might as well go and watch the World Whistling Championships instead.

Re: 6 Nations 2022

It's a shame it took a 2nd minute red card to force England to play with the shackles off but it was refreshing to see the team actually give the opposition something to think about. I really hope we're similarly adventurous in France. I think if we can unsettle them by playing with a high tempo th...
