Re: Trailfinders a sad indictment of rugby
You are looking down from your ivory tower, those involved with the grass roots of the game admire what the Championship clubs are striving to do with no help from the people charged with growing the game. Clubs in the National leagues play the game for the love of it, no trophies to win, just a lo...

Re: Trailfinders a sad indictment of rugby
How are Ealing supposed to build a fanbase if they're not allowed into the Premiership? The Championship itself generates so little interest that you're never going to have a lot of fans until you move up a level. Instead of saying they've failed, and Premiership Rugby acting as a gatekeeper, perha...

Re: Trailfinders a sad indictment of rugby
It would seem that Exeter are not making enough money either, they like us had to raise extra cash selling their hotel or part of the shares in it, money is tight, fans are taking decisions as to what they can and can't afford as businesses are still struggling, rugby clubs are not immune from the c...

Re: Trailfinders a sad indictment of rugby
Imagine being in a rugby club that reaches a glass ceiling and know they cannot break through into a ring fenced league that let's their mates back in(Saracens) then promptly closes the door and bolts it. Is there a point in promoting yourselves or spending money developing a ground to a fictitious ...

Re: Trailfinders a sad indictment of rugby
I think you make a fair point. Ealing are held up as the beacons of hope to break the premiership club monopoly and yet after today you have to question that just how ready, or possibly willing they are. Today was the biggest game in their recent history, the chance of a huge premiership scalp as w...

Re: National league 1 - 2023/24
Rams 33 Leicester Lions 12 It was always going to be a tough ask for the young Lions side to take on a very strong Rams team who started the day in second place in National 1. The hosts showed their class in a very dominant display which, due to Chinnor's loss at Blackheath, put them joint top. It t...

Re: Tigers on Loan 2023/24
Malelili Satala scored two for the Lions v top of the table Rams . Do you know much about Satala and is he a potential future first team player ? He's in the England under 20s squad but hasn't made the 23 yet, so must be considered to have potential. Is he related to the former Fiji 7s Satala, &quo...

Re: Warriors on the way back??
There seems to be zero movement on London Irish, still in the hands of liquidators with no sign of that being resolved with a buyer, their fans, sadly seem to have accepted the club no longer exists, last I heard good numbers were following the amateur London Irish "Wild Geese side. There seems...

Re: Warriors on the way back??
Holland got 6 ways by way of a default on a loan from the previous owners, so he owns the ground but not yet the club it seems.

Re: Warriors on the way back??
Problem is Holland will not pass the RFU's fitness test to run a club and the last report from the liquidators gave Holland more time to pay, it seems to say that he does not yet actually own the club?
