How have you been able to see it?
No names, no packdrill.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 7

Lovely rumours to log on to there! Jantjies would be a massive upgrade on J Ford and conceivably within our price range if we're paying right up to the cap. I don't know a lot about Mapoe but from his highlight reel he looks like a solidly built winger/centre with some decent finishing skills. Wond...

Re: New coaching structure?

It’s not a fact though is it. It’s your opinion. Virtually an entire season in charge and the worst performances in Tigers professional and amateur era's, no improvement whatsoever with a squad full of internationals, and only saved from relegation by the skin of our teeth. Those are facts, and any...

Re: New coaching structure?

I'd throw Louis deacon into the forwards mix, former Tiger enforcer not too proud to step down into National 1 to learn the trade, now coaching in the Championship and making a difference to that squad. Keep the big money for an attack and defence coach, scrum is fine, shift Murphy to be the DoR ro...

Re: GROUNDS

Taking into consideration everything and balancing it all out from atmosphere to travel etc my favourite Premiership ground is Worcester and least favourite is Sale. It always seems to be sunny whenever I go to Sixways which I think has influenced it. The Principailty is some stadium though, been t...

Re: GROUNDS

Worst ground for me is Edgeley Park - half full and not easy to get to along with the Ricoh for the same reason - not much between them. Best ground is Bath followed closely by Glaws - never had an issue at Glaws even though we often go in the shed - good fun and banter. International grounds - bes...

Re: New coaching structure?

1989tiger, give him 3 years? Compare our recruitment with what we see the (formerly) weaker clubs are doing, and we could well be at the bottom again next year, with the added burden of a coaching team that has yet to work out how it will work! There is no substitute for experience, and a break fro...

Re: New coaching structure?

Because Murphy hasnt showed anything (as HC or skills/backs coach) that he's a progressive coach. I'll give you a similar comparison although a totally different environment. I used to work in the warehouse sector, shop floor. The warehouse manager was more of a hindrance when having to work with th...

Re: New coaching structure?

I'd be very happy with Haig and Rowntree taking on field duties. Rowntree could oversee forward coaching for the first team with Brett taking on the academy and development. Then Stanko can remain scrum coach across the whole set-up. From what I've heard Boris is a terrific coach with the younger f...

strawclearer wrote: Tue May 21, 2019 3:46 pm That sounds as if Genge sees Smurf in the DoR role - off the pitch = off the training ground?

Genge shows increasing maturity, leadership and ownership - all to the very, very good!
Does it? I don’t see it that way.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 7

Securing an early release Blommetjies to join our (potentially) growing South African contingent. Mapoe is an odd one, if we’ve already got Reid, Taute, Tuilagi, Eastmond and Viljoen? Do we need a 6th senior centre? Likewise, Jantjes, that’d be a big shift in salary outlay as a replacement for Joe ...
