Re: Tigers v Sale (H) - Premiership - Saturday 21st October 2023 KO:15:05

Look at the fall of Genge if you want the likes of Lam. Genge has disappeared off the rugby planet since he went to Bristol, his woeful scrummaging technique and power ( and Sinckler's) cost us the match v South Africa... I wonder if Genge will return to us, once a future England captain and World ...

Re: RWC 2023 Fixtures and results

I think a lot of credit has to go to Aled Walters who got England peaking at the right end of the tournament. England players had an energy and strength they hadn’t previously. SA were the opposite. A complete reversal of 2019 when Alex Walters was with SA. Can we get him back at MWWR please! Good ...

NZ have had the rub of the green with all the tight calls, but they have been absolutely ruthless with it
Thus it ever was.

Re: Wasps in the mire - now in administration

Agree entirely What is different about "New Wasps" that means they can enter a team at championship level? Sides have to work their way up on merit or we could have any rich bloke buying/renting a stadium and entering the Championship with no track record to justify their place. Wasps are...

Re: RWC 2023 Fixtures and results

I think complaints about the reffing of France /SA are misplaced - he is a Kiwi, and I think SA played him brilliantly. They knew he'd allow skewing round the ruck, hands off the ground, most neck tackles, blocking and flopping/over-running the ruck, because they've been part of NZ rugby since the 9...

Re: RWC 2023 Fixtures and results

The ref let lots go. I think SA won it with the delays, subs and unpenalised offences during the Etzebeth yellow card and just after. They stalled the French impetus and rode their luck with a slightly laissez-faire ref. TBH a Nigel Owens would've been telling the captains to stop the ruck shenaniga...

Re: RWC 2023 Fixtures and results

think SA got a out of jail card in the frenzied passage after they delayed the game during the Etzebeth yellow - high tackles, hands from off the deck etc, one yellow card possibly. Got out of it well.

Might be an age thing but I go for Hank Marvin but willing to listen to claims for George Harrison. Best two for me are John McLaughlin and Richard Thompson. And I'm old enough to have seen all of Mayall's early guitarists, and Jethro Tull before Barre. Really? Mick Abrahams then. My favourite band...

Re: RWC 2023 Fixtures and results

Said earlier on it felt a bit 2007, playing dross early then bit by bit downing almost everyone in their path. And a certain ex-winger still feels he was denied a try!

Re: RWC 2023 Fixtures and results

My call was Argentina, NZ, England and SA, so I'm OK so far, but think France may have the edge now. The England call was what is called a paradox - the stodgier they play, the more I saw them staggering into the semis. I felt more confident with Ford and Care on the park, that pair could out-think ...
