Re: Owen Williams Confirmed to Gloucester
Why sign Toomua a world class centre to then play him at 10? Why re-sign Flood its never good to go backwards. Why sign another unknown when we did that with Williams? Why not instead for the first time ever just let us have two top class fly halfs ie Burns and Ford? I agree with the consternation ...

Re: Next match- Coventry v Tigers
O'Connor at 8; I think this is his first spell there for us. Hopefully he'll be as successful as he was for Hawke's Bay. Good to see Smith back, too. Didn't he come on at 8 around 20 mins in v Glous last season with Evans starting at 7. I defer to your superior memory. I'll change my answer to 'fir...

Re: Positive Posts only for The Great Cockerill
A top coach and a real Tigers legend.
In a strange way, I think he showed his real quality as a coach and a man when things weren't going so well around him. He's always held things together and kept Tigers in the hunt irrespective of injuries and lack of resources.
I think we'll miss him greatly.

Re: The Conumdrum that is Ben Youngs !
That's a fair point. I guess my question was positioned in relation to the other scrum halves; they seem(ed) to be getting on alright with the basic skills both with and without Hansen. Why is the speed and accuracy of his pass so much poorer than his more junior colleagues? Not sure our other scru...

Re: The Conumdrum that is Ben Youngs !
May also be worth pointing out that when Tigers sacked Scott Hansen earlier this year, the scrum-half coach (as well as defence coach) - maybe Ben didn't take kindly to that. Does an apparently world class scrum half need a coach in his tenth(?) season of rugby to explain the importance of being ab...

And I'll provide an answer for him to read, too. Get rid, yes, but thank? Never. He's whatever the reverse of an alchemist is. A copromist?strawclearer wrote: Just in case SC reads this forum, I thought I'd resurrect the thread!

Re: The search for an 8 continues
No, he's not the huge, tackle breaking 8 people on here want so much Interesting point: got me thinking. Would he look ordinary in the type of static team that we often resemble? I think back to Brendon O'Connor's last games in the ITM cup and he looked a very good 8 but you wouldn't pick him at 8 ...

Re: New "Buddy" relationship with Championship clubs
The lead story in the Rugby Paper is about a proposal by Nigel Melville that Championship clubs who have no interest in promotion "buddy up" with a Premiership outfit to share players and give under used prem players game time. They could have up to 12 first teamers and as many acacdemy p...

Re: George North stood down from playing
"If he thought he had been concussed, then George is sensible enough to put his hand up and say 'I'm concussed and I need some time out of the game'." Of course, concussion never affects judgment. :smt011 I don't understand why Northampton are not holding counsel on this, not even a little...

Re: Is it now time to thank Cockers?
I'm with Iain, I went to EVERY match, home and away under Meyer. It WAS wretched. I remember the entire premiership being dull that year; I'm pretty sure Meyer took over at a time when the refereeing/ELV emphasis (I think it was about the jackal) was killing the game. I'm not suggesting Meyer would...

Re: Dan Cole is a cheat!
What interested me more about this is that in an article on Sky Sports Borthwick was quoted as saying that at each of their training camps they have had a red working with them - one of which was Greg Garner, of all people. Wayne Barnes and JP were also mentioned as having also worked with them but...

Re: Calum Clark - Again!
You won't affect the Whingers, they seem to connect historical bad behaviour - every club and nation has a massive list from the 70s-90s for a start - with a serial cheap shot merchant whose cheap shots are far from handbags. So why condemn waterboarding in the light of WW2, JFK's assassination in ...
