Re: Heineken Cup Final 2001 - Stade vs. Tigers
The day in Paris was one of the most memorable days of my life. I still have the jersey from that day. I'll never forget that fans in Saints and Sarries colours, complete strangers, insisted on buying my pal and I drinks after the game.

If he's as good as the last French no9 we had - Dupuy - this is great news.

Re: Treviso ... a team on form?
I've never criticised the team, players or coaches because I do believe that they always try their best. However, I thought that when Young ran the ball into touch - all of 25 /30 yards - towards his own goal-line to make the ball dead, and therefore bring the game to an end, was the most cowardly (...

Re: Electing police and crime commissioners
There ought to be an option on the ballot paper to the effect of - "I don't want here to be an elected police commissioner". Off tangent, but did anyone watching the Cenotaph service notice that the Queen, Philip, Anne and Andrew sang the hymns without requiring a hymnal - unlike the polit...

Re: A quick question on rugby!!
I recall Matt Poole scoring a try at Twickenham in a cup final against Bath where he caught a Bath throw in on their 5 metre line and dived over. It was the final at which Neil Back pushed the ref (Steve Lander)1994/95?

Re: What do you say about that then doom mongers?
The doomongers ought to have realised by now that people that matter pay no attention to what they say (which is mostly drivel).
Well done Tigers.
Well done Tigers.

I detect an under current in some of the posts. Would the same be said about the doctors from Rothley?

Don't stop going! One day you'll see Tigers win at Twickenham and it will all have been worth it.

Re: We Should Celebrate
Well said Rugbytiger and Fentiger. A breath of fresh air to read balanced and sensible comments. It was a great game yesterday. Once Tigers went ahead I thought they could win, but it was not to be. Quins played a great game and made fewer errors (that the ref spotted).

Re: Jeering opposition kickers
I recall reading that players who took penalties / conversions preferred noise (i.e rythmic clapping / drums etc) rather than silence, because with the latter the slightest noise, i.e a shout or heckle, was off-putting. Traditions are important, but I think some Tigers are a little sanctimonious abo...

Re: Heineken cup final
Why are some people knocking Leinster and Irish rugby on the basis that club / province success has not been replicated by the Irish national side? Ireland have had the better of England in recent 6 Nations. England were not exactly world beaters when Tigers and Wasps won the HC. Expecting club / pr...

Lesta Lad, I and my wife are driving to Twickenham and parking at the Cardinal Vaughan car park next to the stadium. We plan to leave Desford at 8am with a picnic to enjoy at the stadium. If you get stuck getting coach tickets, I'm happy to assist getting you to the match, you can do your own thing ...

Re: Horacio Agulla - Where's he going?
Sarries fielded more English internationals than Tigers last week (look at the match programme). Why do people keep having a go (with negative connotations) at Sarries for having a South African connection? It's childish and is another sign of mindless football (soccer) fan attitudes creeping into r...

Re: Revenge of the Happy Clapper
I doubt whether Cockerill's `learning' had anything to do with the drivel his critics were posting to this forum. Like any great coach / DoR he took responsibility for fielding what he thought were the best equipped and available players. He and Matt O'Connor have done a brilliant job for a third co...
