Re: Harry Thacker article

The discussion about HT's size might be a sensible one if it was confined to weight - unarguably he IS light. However, he is only 2cm shorter than Tom Youngs so the arguments about his height's effects on the scrum are somewhat trite! Nobody has suggested, as far as I can tell, that TY is too short....

Re: Mobile Crane on the move?

Having watched their SF against Bedford and seen just just how flaky Bristol can be in defence JC can't help but to improve them. He is a wonderful off-loader but seldom did it for Tigers and I was convinced that it was down to him wearing a scrum cap: I know, you all think I'm weird to suggest this...

Re: Pro 12

Has anyone else noticed just how much more intense and focussed the Pro 12 has been this season with qualifying for Europe an issue? The Pro 12 had Euro Qualification last year too.... Intense? Seriously? Maybe if you discount three Welsh Regions, Edinburgh, Zebre & Treviso, you may be right. R...

Re: Genge

Rugby Paper today quotes Cockers as saying about Genge:

"It's got to be sorted but we like Ellis and we'd like to keep him. He's found a spiritual home."

so here's hoping!

Re: How they stayed fit

Interesting thing about this and other articles is that for once you are hearing talk about only wanting players who fit the club ethos - common in Rugby (especially Tigers) but I've not heard it articulated about a football club before (doesn't mean it wasn't there - just I've never seen it!).

Re: 2016 - 2017 kit

What used to happen was one form of stupidity - us being forced to wear our away shirts when they were more like the opposition's home strip than our home strip! Then the 'powers that be' saw sense and just insisted that the strips be identifiable, and we moved onto the stupidity of ignoring clashes...

Re: 12 in a row

It's certainly interesting that we consider not getting a home SF somewhat of a failure (perhaps more accurately a 'non-success' rather than a failure), whereas others come, do well and go. The measure of Saracen's success is not that they've bought it (a plausible even if not wholly accurate accusa...

I reckon England being beaten by USA 1-0 in the 1950 World Cup comes close, but that's it.

Re: Play offs

Forget the play-offs for the moment: do you really think the management and players don't remember last season's results at the Rec. No way are they going to send out a side to whom that could happen again. More likely to be looking for revenge!!

Re: Hairy Queens - evolution or revolution?

I suspect they've done as well as could be expected in creating their new team. Let's face it - Conor O'Shea is going to an incredibly hard act to follow whoever was appointed!

It seems to me that there is something fated about our no 10s taking it in turn to be injured. Just hope Bell has been keeping fit and trained!

As well as Freddie does anyone know what state Harry Thacker is in as he looked in some pain when he came off holding his arm?

Harry Thacker had to get MoM, I suppose, for the try of th season and a good all-round performance but I thought Mike Fitzgerald was outstanding as always!

Re: Tigers at Saints

We need 3 points as we are now 7 ahead of Saints. If they get 10 points they will be on 62 and we are now on 59. If we finish on 62, we would finish ahead as will have won more games. Basically, Tigers just need 1 win. Don't forget Sale - if they win tomorrow and their 'catch-up' game they will onl...
