Re: Sam Yawayawa
If a player literally cannot kick a ball by the age of twenty you can't teach him to do it well. If he is unwilling to tackle then he is not going to earn a place in a Premiership team without a massive change from the player. Time will tell if any player released by Tigers has the talent and is de...

Re: Jones names provisional elite player squad
I think this is an impressive looking squad but won't fully commit until Roly has had his say.
Not seen him for a while, I hope his mates Exeter supporting wife has not beat him up!

Re: Matt Toomau
It was stated that Toomua would be arriving in the summer, which summer is that, English or Australian! The way I see it the season is tough enough already without creating more problems, then again it may not cause a problem, but the potential is obviously present if you know your rugby and have e...

Re: Sam Yawayawa
The problem? There isn't one. A modern back 3 player has to be capable of filling either wing or FB in a flexible lineup. So blitzing pace is helpful, evasion is better, good receiving and solid defence is essential and above all the requisite functions between the ears. That's why Thommo's still t...

Agreed.Snorbins wrote:He looked good in the 7's but thats not the game that pays the bills. Be interesting to see his game time with the big boys!
We saw some potential though, on eight occasions, and like the try versus Argentina in the XV's game last season.

Re: Sam Yawayawa
From what i gather the club has it's reason. also who are the other gems? Ford - Which IMO there wasn't much the club could do about it. Lewington? Twelvetrees (although his form the last few years don't support it so much) Who else is a regular starter? Odogwu is certainly promising but he was onl...

Re: Tigers announce Sevens squad
Playing back to back is not something that should be focused on as a valid excuse, IMO it sends the wrong message. XV's is also very fast and very hard these days. Stamina and execution of skills under pressure are things that are crucial in any format of the game and anyone should look to be better...

Re: Sam Yawayawa
For the players that we picked, we didn't do too badly. They gave it 100% and there were some good pieces of team and individual play. No, it wasn't the best performance but I wouldn't say we were unimpressive. What I watched (2 games)was very young players showing some good heads up thinking and s...

Re: Tigers announce Sevens squad
I find it interesting that the 2 teams who went through were the teams who did not have back to back fixtures. If the group had been played properly Sale should have played Worcs after playing us, Worcs the play Falcons who would then have played us. This would have been fair as all teams would hav...

Re: Tigers announce Sevens squad
I mean they are not sevens players for a reason (Although Odogwu could do it if XV doesn't work out for him). I though Lewis has alot of pace for a Lock. Fred looks to be developing well into a 8. Hardwick seems to have good vision. But again it is hard to judge them based on this competition. Alot...

Re: Tigers announce Sevens squad
Yes it was 7 vs 7. It's just the other teams 7 were physically developed and more experienced. We won one game with a bonus point, we're competitive in another and only got blown away as we played the best team in the group in a back to back game when they were fresh and we were tired. We sent a te...

Re: Tigers announce Sevens squad
thought they would have struggled more. Bar the sale game they where they alright. Are you serious, they worked hard to stay in it but mostly lived of scraps. Group D was the lowest quality of the lot IMO! They were rubbish, worked hard but other than that they had very little to offer and under pr...
