Re: Tom Youngs into England 32 man squad for AI

it might have escaped your notice that hartley is in top form at the moment.

with the talk of his captaincy and leadership credentials on top of playing,i believe hartley is seen as the long term incumbent.

it will take someone special to overtake hartley in the pecking order. youngs isnt that.

Re: It's going to take a good team to beat Clerment.

clermont clearly looking good.

was annoyed though to hear the sky commentator (was it barnes or harrison?) say we are looking at the likely winner. too much rugby still to be played.

Re: Tigers losing money......worrying times!

i think crowds are down slightly across the league, have seen spaces at the rec and kingsholm and the gardens i dont think were there in recent seasons- times are tough for a lot of people and the cost per head will deter many. eg i usually make the trip to welford road for the saints game, decided ...

Re: injury jinx

Not a surprise getting a comment like that from Boon, after all he does regard Tigers fans as a lynch-mob! all tigers fans all of the time? absolutely not. some, on the clark matter? yes. actually, as you bring that up, you dont have to look far on the discussions on this board at that time to see p...

Re: injury jinx

when a player says 'at the moment' it indicates he just wants to get back playing well for his club first, then kick on to england (or other national side if he is of a different nationality!) i think most clubs have injury issues, its a sad fact of the modern game. saints did quite well for a while...

Re: Saint Robin Hood

Perhaps Boon can shed some light or comment. all i know is the squad had a team do yesterday, robin hood themed, and mujati went as friar tuck (seen a pic) whether it was a stag, birthday or just the guys letting their hair down after our short turnaround (we played exeter sunday and bath friday th...

Re: Saracens vs Tigers Saturday 15/09/12 3:30

41.5k is a bit less than the 43k they declared v saints a few years back (iirc)

not much evidence of growth there, and turgid draws like todays are unlikely to pull in many extra fans when they do open up copthall. not a good game for the newcomer imho.

Re: Saints player being investigated for racist comments

some observations: a) rugby is a game played in a society (ours) where racism and other prejudices are an ongoing issue. to say it is not a part of rugby, as if our game exists in some kind of bubble, is unwarranted naivety and/or complacency. on this very thread are comments like 'he's a saffa' - h...

Re: Heineken Cup - The future

surely playing the same teams will be more of an issue for the celtic league teams? who else would they play in a post-HC competition but each other - the same 11 opponents in cup & league competitions. the exception might be the welsh, via the lv cup which offers english opposition. so as an en...

crumblies, thats fine by me. the bet is on, on your terms.

financial prudence means i must limit my liabilities though, so this is the only bet i am entering into (ie - not having the same bet with a dozen other tigers fans!)

Re: HC Cup next season

not sure that you are typical, smurphs, as i wouldnt like to make such a sweeping generalisation about another teams fanbase. think you are deluded though. you might not like the credit saints get for winning the ecc, but thems the rules, laid out in advance so get over it. but even if we are charita...
