Re: The RFU
It would be ironic (and grossly unfair) for any of the current Championship clubs to not get a place in a new 'Premiership 2', when the rules also effectively block most of them from getting out of the league through promotion.

We were able to bring in Petrus du Plessis as short term cover whilst we waited for Dan Palmer to arrive.
I wonder if that's the limit of our extra spend, given our delicate financial position.

We've become too predictable with how we use Kata, too.

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2022
I would have taken Farrell at Tigers before Pollard everyday of the week. Handré is a class act and 2 x World Cup medals puts you in the hall of fame, but I am a little concerned by his form. The errors seem to have crept in this season. He's never been a 'moment of magic' fly half, so any drop in ...

Re: Tigers v La Rochelle (A) - Champions Cup - Sunday 14th January 2024 - KO - 3-15pm
There are moments when the rigidity of English rugby has me scratching my head... 30 seconds to go in the 1st half, we've just scored to get within 7pts, we claim the kick off and yet we still kick the ball back to them. La Rochelle score. Second half, they're down to 13 men, we win possession in ou...

Ilione for Exeter (A) is the only time DMK has genuinely picked a youngster without injuries forcing his hand. Vanes and FTT have played because there's been no senior hookers left.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - Crocodile McKeller: Men at Work
I would be amazed if we didn't spend up to the cap. In a BBC interview this time last year, Andrea said she was against the salary cap rise but we'll spend up to the limit to stay competitive. With the cap going up , league games going down , and squad sizes restricted to 35 senior players, it's go...

Re: Tigers v La Rochelle (A) - Champions Cup - Sunday 14th January 2024 - KO - 3-15pm
I think he will rest a few key players from the initial “boom” of KO but save them for impact on the bench In modern parlance, we'll definitely need 'finishers' against a team like La Rochelle. Martin, Kata and Kelly are the only players who've started >3 of the last games, so we should be relative...

A word on Cronin...
Seemed to have gone of the boil in the first few months of the season and struggled to nail down the #1 shirt, but he's been a man possessed for the last two games!

Trying to remember a more tough run of games than what we're about to face...
Sarries (champs)
La Rochelle (Euro champs)
Leinster (Euro runners up)
1 win from 3 is probably a realistic outlook. Anything more is a massive bonus.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - Crocodile McKeller: Men at Work
I have read a number of comments questioning his signing, admittedly from the usual suspects, not yourself :smt039 I'm one of them. He was a mainstay of the L.Irish back row and their captain, so I was expecting him to be more of a challenger to Hanro, but I haven't seen that. To my (untrained) eye...
