Re: Do we have a sugar daddy?
I was actually referring to the money man Tom Scott who, if this all goes through (which it will) ends up with close to 50% of the club shares. The whole reason for the meeting is to avoid the normal ruling that such a percentage ownership would normally automatically trigger a full takeover with To...

They had too much pop and behaved badly; who hasn't (when young). The club has apologised and it would be good for the players involved to be fined by the club and the money donated to a charity of the landlords choosing in addition to 'costs' to cover any losses. End of :smt023 Don't understand wh...

Re: Still stuck in the mud!
Just looked at the saints Facebook page and their new Barwell stand is coming on nicely but looking like a meccano set at the moment. A bit on the small side though at 1900 seats :smt003 To quote: Since 2001 the stadium has been expanded three times from a capacity of just under 10,000 to 13,591, w...

Re: Do we have a sugar daddy?
If memory serves me right the covenant did not last long. The subsequent (to becoming a PLC) share issue failed to raise the necessary £3M and HSBC took a 10% share holding. However, any major issue of shares (as here to Tom Scott) requires sharholder approval. I guess the horse has already bolted,...

Don't think they'll let you in if you refer to them as a 'town'Noddy555 wrote:Good luck to them it's what they and the town have needed for the past 20 years, and although I'm almost embarrassed to admit it, if I'd lived around there I'd probably be a supporter.

Do you recall the circumstances and the reasons given? I have to say when I voted on the Plc issue that was the main thing that persuaded me to vote in favour.daktari wrote:covenant was dropped some time ago

Re: Do we have a sugar daddy?
I seem to recall that when the members were asked to vote for a change to to a Plc they said that there would be a covenant put in place which would restrict any single share ownership to 10%. Clearly I was either mistaken at the time or I have missed the change. Perhaps Bill has the answer?

Bath get the green light...
It looks like Bath REC Trustees have won their appeal against the decision of the Charity Commission and others which should allow for the progression of Bath Rugby's stadium development plans. Rain capes with hoods either in club colours or clear plastic so that you can see club clothing beneath. As well as the terrace areas a lot of the seating area is exposed to rain, particularly when it's windy. A number of other clubs sell similar products which can be folded up into a small pouch fo...
