Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE VI: The Return of the Burns
I'm not sure what it is about Spencer that has seen him out of the selection considerations? However at 28 he probably isn't going to be on the long term radar for England. It's now or not at all and the latter seems to be the case. Prediction JVP to be England scrum half by 2024 and an outside bet...

Re: Manu
After all the help and support which Tigers gave him through long periods of injury, and the odd amount of indiscipline and anti social behaviour, I was disgusted with him when he walked away from the club due to financial issues. Because of the way he plays he is always going to suffer injuries of...

Re: Championship rugby
It's really weird. When Quins went down years ago, I was really pleased when they bounced back up. When Saints went down I was never really pleased because I knew I'd miss the fixture so much. When Newcastle have gone down, I've always wanted them to return. When Exeter arrived I enjoyed watching th...

Who are you referring to? As for Ford, unless Eddie tells him he’s out of World Cup contention he’s not leaving England until after the next World Cup and no one else in England would have the cap space for him to leave Tigers Could play anywhere across the front row and had loose lips Would that b...

How much is Richard Wigglesworth on?Wayne Richardson Fan Club wrote: ↑Wed Jun 16, 2021 1:03 pm Lewis will surely get picked up by someone & you can hardly blame White for leaving, if WW is staying as a player it's a massive waste of Cap Money for a player who got worse as the season went on from a low base.

Not always been convinced about M Ford but I think he's done a good job this season. The defence has been good. Would be disappointed to see him leave. Sinfield is an interesting one. Great RL player even better bloke by all account but 0 RU coaching experience. His coaching experience at the Rhino...

They are stupid enough to re-appoint Lucy Wray to the board. A board that was supposed to be 'whiter than white'.Hot_Charlie wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 12:02 amI’m sure the salary cap manager will be all over them too.
They may be cheats, but I credit them with not being THAT stupid.

Round up of news and rumour from 'The Ruck' (13/6/21): https://www.ruck.co.uk/weekly-transfer-round-up-tom-curry-nathan-earle-joe-marler/ “According to The Times, Leicester Tigers are already putting in work to persuade Tom Curry to move to Welford Road when the England and Lions flanker contract w...

Re: How do you rate this season?
For me its been 9/10 in terms of what we might have expected given the fact as an incoming coach he had to deal with all the stuff that we are all know so much about i.e player churn, implosion within the club, lack of quality coaches.I think he has been superb. There is going to be a real challenge...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE VI: The Return of the Burns
You don’t have to be a giant winger. Most English wingers are not giants. But you have to be able to deal with the physicality. Cheslyn Kolbe, Jonny May, Anthony Watson, Louis Rees-Zammit, Teddy Thomas all seem to have something going for them and they are not 20stones. But as you say, they have to...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE VI: The Return of the Burns
I've been consistent on Lavanini. I think he's a bit of blunt instrument but one that's very good at it when used well. When he arrived Tigers were dire in fringe defence with too many tacklers being carried for 2 or 3 extra metres after making weak hits. Lavanini immediately made an impact in frin...

Re: BRISTOL (H) - 5th June 2021
We lost yesterday because we weren't good enough. That's fine. There is a reason why Bristol have 30/35 points more than us. However the ridiculous situation at the end, with no consequence, renders all future TMO interventions and citing utterly pointless. No doubt next week a team, any team, will ...

Re: BRISTOL (H) - 5th June 2021
When I dabbled in coaching with the St Trinian's U8 'e's I lived and died by two Martin Johnson insights into the splendid game of rugby football. 1. Rugby is all about being in the game in the last ten minutes and then managing that time better than the opposition. 2. And relevant to this game, in ...
