Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - Crocodile McKeller: Men at Work

We’re not in a weak position.
If we have cap set aside and Watson decides to move on, then we have mid season budget available for either a World Cup bolter, or dare I say it, to capitalise should another club do a Worcester/Wasps/Irish.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - Crocodile McKeller: Men at Work

They’ve also signed Lewis Boyce from Bath and Brad Thyer from Cardiff, not LH’s. Plus already secured 4 of their current props on new deals. Seems a bit overkill.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - Crocodile McKeller: Men at Work

Rory Sutherland would certainly be my choice but only time will tell. We need a LH above all other positions and IMHO he is the best of the ones we think are still available. Will Goodrick-Clark is also still available. Sutherland would be the better player but WGC has been a very consistent player...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - Crocodile McKeller: Men at Work

Seems a fair assumption these have been announced due to the fact they have been identified in the training pictures

Suspect, still to come -
Academy promotions.
Contract extensions.
Finish with internationals, Watson staying, and hopefully Fischetti joining.

Do some of Nott’s lads just train with us early on, those perhaps expected to be in the Prem Cup mix. Richard Clift joined them a month or so back, and posted he was looking forward to roiling it up with Notts and Tigers.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2022/23 Squad and transfers thread part 2: The Lion, the Wig and the Wardrobe

Ollie Allan has changed his Instagram bio to ‘Rugby Player Leicester Tigers’ So I’d imagine he’s signed! Great young talented 9 to the senior academy imo. Youngs (33), Whiteley (27), JVP (22), Edwards (20), Allan (18). Very good set of ages experience and talent there imo Him and another London Iri...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2022/23 Squad and transfers thread part 2: The Lion, the Wig and the Wardrobe

I think this season will be Heyes major breakthrough when he confirms himself as outright starter over Cole, Dan passing over the torch. I do agree TH looks slightly weaker than LH in terms of depth. Cole & Heyes are better than/equal to Cronin & West (last year) / Cronin & Fisichetti? (...

I’m sure I’ve just read that Creevy is off to Sale, as well as LCD.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2022/23 Squad and transfers thread part 2: The Lion, the Wig and the Wardrobe

Wilkinson, Rogerson and a first team ready prop, assuming Watson is now staying, and I think we’re in a really strong place. I’m actually just as pleased about the influx of development players, I think some of them can really play a part this year.
Has Fisichetti signed anywhere yet?

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2022/23 Squad and transfers thread part 2: The Lion, the Wig and the Wardrobe

Remember Ireland getting turned over by England one game when Tom Court who was predominantly a LH had to come on at TH, and got rinsed by Corbisiero. That’s how difficult one prop made the bench selection unless you had someone like Leonard who could play both sides. Cole did indeed play LH on a li...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2022/23 Squad and transfers thread part 2: The Lion, the Wig and the Wardrobe

We are short of West and Leatigaga as options from where we were last year, so you’d have to hope there is another player incoming, ideally starting calibre like West. Goodrick-Clarke seems like a West’esque level replacement, perhaps he has a release clause at Ealing? Ideal world we could get Fasog...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2022/23 Squad and transfers thread part 2: The Lion, the Wig and the Wardrobe

Based on losses to the squad, known additions, and possible development promotions, can’t help but agree prop, back row and wing (maybe centre, depending on where we see Kata fitting in) would be my only concerns. Prop - The injuries at LH last year would have bitten us harder had we not picked up W...
