Re: Progress Under Borthwick
Early days yet for SB in terms of Head Coach, especially if talking about taking up a national role with England. However, so far so good for him and he seems to be on an upward trajectory in terms of his career. In that respect, I hope Andrea et al are starting to think about succession planning fo...

Re: Progress Under Borthwick
In terms of the ‘ next step’, I’d be looking at consistency and discipline as much as anything else. I think that is a good sign overall compared to the Murphy days. There are always positions we can improve on, tight head and wing (in my opinion). Wing only because Van Wyk hasn’t really pulled up a...

Loved the post match interview with Genge. Really was quality and genuine excitement about getting fans back in the stadium. Says it was a significant reason for staying at the club.

Re: Montpellier’s Form - Challenge Cup Final chat
I would be very surprised to see Montoya named in the squad given his lack of match practice. It wouldn’t be my choice, but I’m guessing SB picks Wiggy over JVP on the bench.

Re: Football pundits v rugby pundits
A lot of posts on here are critical of the rugby pundits - sometimes with justification. However,I give you a brief synopsis of the insightful comments offered by the BBC football pundits this evening.... Question - “What did you make of that goal?” Answer - ‘It was unbelievable’ Q - “What about tha...

Re: QUINS (H) - ROUND 19 - 15th May 2021
We need possession and to keep it to see the game out. Not territory at this stage.

Re: QUINS (H) - ROUND 19 - 15th May 2021
If I were Head Coach, I’d be trying to get my preferred team for the final (subject to fitness/availability) starting against Quins. Get as many minutes together on the pitch as reasonable/practical. Depending on how the Quins match goes, would be thinking about protecting a few of the key players f...

Re: Montpellier’s Form - Challenge Cup Final chat
I realise this won’t be a widely-shared view, but Wiese is on the cusp of becoming a liability if he can’t keep his temper under control. I am acutely aware of what he has brought to the team and I don’t undervalue that. However, the way he scragged the Bath player when he wasn’t even involved in th...

Re: EUROPEAN SEMI FINALS
Clearly we will need to think hard about our line out tactics so as to ensure we have possession. Just do what Bath did late on and throw it not straight direct to the first man :smt002 Yeah, thought that too. I’d be apoplectic if Tigers had to resort to that given the coaching experience we have i...
