Re: Lions 2021
I'm sure AWJ's tears were genuine ( he's a passionate man perhaps playing his finale) and maybe professional Northern Hemisphere rugby players do still think of Lions' selection as the "pinnacle" but when I look at the 15 names who started the 3rd Test on Saturday, my gut feeling is that i...

Re: Lions 2021
Was it really worth it? I'm sure the players and officials were well paid and I guess that Sky managed to wrap enough advertising around the coverage but tbh it was a pretty joyless experience watching it. The Boks first try in the 2nd Test and Russell's transformative effect on Lions' play in the 3...

Re: Top 3 Earners from Each Premiership Club - A list from 'The Ruck'.
The "league table" is quite interesting and the club that stands out for me, is Quins. They seemed to have achieved their success without (essentially) a head coach and without splashing the cash. That earns a cheer from me!

LCFC plans
Do we think that the ambitious plans announced by Leicester City Football Club have implications for us? The main features of the plans include increasing capacity to 40,000 and the construction of a 220 bed hotel. They are just plans at the moment; they could be modified and they may never happen b...

Re: Lions 2021
Whenever a Lions team is published a question always seems to pop up in my mind. (Firstly full disclosure: I am a Lions sceptic always have been. It seems faintly ridiculous to me that four home nations gang up to play one SH nation). Anyway the question I ask myself is would that selected Lions tea...

Re: THIS WEEKS RUGBY - 07-11th July 2021 - MATCH THREAD
I see that Murimurivalu was yellow carded and that both he and Nadolo were off the pitch before the end. Anyone know whether their departure was tactical or injury-related?

Re: Lions 2021
Cancelled. It was always as daft an idea as a football tour of Brazil or a cricket tour of India. It was a daft idea driven by the public's (understandable) desire to "return to normality" before it was remotely possible and, I assume, media companies' greed

Re: Best Wishes , Miles Harrison
Sorry to hear this. I met him once at The Stoop - years ago - when he and Stuart Barnes were covering tbe Quins/Tigers match. We'd arrived early at the ground and he was standing outside the commentary box. He was very chatty, very friendly - seemed a regular guy with no media person aloofness.

Re: The Play Offs...
Harlequins and Exeter - right finalists for me. Harlequins for the most fantastic come back in play off history ( don't think that's hyperbole!) and rather pleased that Bristol got their comeuppance after the last ten minutes of our game. And I'm an Exeter fan ( after us, of course) because in an ag...

Re: United Rugby Championship
Tbh I hadn't fully grasped that Super Rugby had shrunk down to just being an Anzac competition. As far as I can understand it the new plans are intended to be permanent and not just interim Covid measures.
