Re: Next match- Coventry v Tigers
OK, we lost. But the team turned up and worked around the problems of the first half. For me there was a lot of promise, let alone a LBP, from a seemingly hopeless situation. Too soon to raise Mauger to the highest spot, but that has to be the best 2nd half recovery this season. With all the emotion...

Re: Owen Williams to Gloucester
Let's start adding up the Glos salary cap then shall we ? Fearns reportedly on £1m was over 3 years, Williams £400k, then you've got Afoa, Scott, Hibbard to name just a few..add that lot up. Trouble is complaining about 'possible' salary cap breaches is like complaining about the service in the Tig...

So he was ultimately responsible for the team's performances and the decline?ellis9 wrote:Cockerill was the final decision maker.

Re: Stanko Returns
Indeed three of them have played for Tigers, but not in the successful catch and drive days. I do remember, however, that No8 coming in to cover for a long term injury to Crane and was awful at the back of an advancing scrum. He was initially clueless at controlling the ball on the ground but he soo...

Re: Stanko Returns
Surely the point of history is to learn from it, and the catch and drive was very productive for Tigers and is still for others, Exeter for instance. It seems odd that the team that made it a successful feature should have left it behind while others now use it as an effective part of their weaponry.

Re: Stanko Returns
Thinking about it, as he's part time does that leave room for Johnno or Cozza to come in to get the trade mark catch and drive resurrected. I pick these two as they were the last leaders to preside over the last of the successful catch and drive packs, I don't think we need Backy to demonstrate how ...

Re: DOR aspirants, then?
Wait until the end of the season and take the results as they come? I now expect to see a dramatic change otherwise it was pointless sacking Cockerill! This is why he shouldn't have been sacked. I know you won't let it go but it was either watch the car crash continue or try something to stop it. I...

Re: Stanko Returns
For me the interview questions would have to be: 1 Can you put heart and consistency into a pack's mentality? 2 Can you form a successful driving maul from a lineout? 3 Can you defend a driving maul? 4 Do you understand what it's like to work with the Tigers team? 5 Not essential, but do you any big...

Re: Departure of Cockerill
It's never a pretty sight seeing someone being told to clear his desk but I think it's for the best. Pugnacious, belligerent, committed, faithful, hard working with Tigers written through every bone in his body - yes. A creative, flexible and imaginative thinker - sadly not. Can we find someone with...

Re: Teams up v Saracens
We did well against a clinical Sarries team. Radio Leicester did an analysis of their defensive record and it's very impressive with a ridiculously low tries against record and doing the simple stuff well. The rush defence may live offside but as Austin said when playing for Tigers, 'It's only illeg...

Re: Catering & Bar Feedback Season 2016/17
Club still serving excesively short measures - time to bring in Trading Standards! Time to stop patronising this insult to the club's fans. I feel sorry and embarrassed for the away fans who travel to what once wanted to be the best club in the world, or Europe at least, only to be treated like an ...

Re: Is it now time to thank Cockers?
I'm not convinced that Johnno is the man for DOR but a few years ago I suggested that he should be brought in to coach mauling as this had gone from the Tigers' repertoire. I still think this. It should be remembered that Lofreda and then Meyer were recruited as outside coaches with track records. I...

Re: Exeter v Tigers - 24th December 2016
Defensively Tigers have been alot better of late and if they play with the same intensity as last week it should be a good game......and close! So, that if appears to have been answered, just pass the ball and score - forward pass. Remember when we were the catch and drive kings? Now clueless. I be...

Re: Exeter v Tigers - 24th December 2016
Plus if we lose the next 2 games it does rather suggest that even if we end in the top 4 a semi final loss is the prospect - again. Still puts the team ahead of 8 other teams in the league. Not a bad position for an underperforming team in a crisis. Even I think crisis might be a bit strong, but as...
