Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Episode 3 The revenge of the Contracts.

Does anyone know whether the salary cap has to include players no longer at the Club but for whom Tigers have a residual contractual obligation? In other words if we're topping up Manu's salary elsewhere does that reduce spending power on our own squad? The cap includes any "payment or benefit...

Re: Transfers and Rumours Non-Tigers 2019-20

It would be a shame to see Manu play for another Premiership team, but I suppose that's life. I wish him well, but it would really hurt to see him win anything with Sale! Not sure how I would feel if I was a Sale player who had just taken a pay cut and then they announce they have enough cash to sig...

Re: Finishing this season

I an hoping we use the younger 9's with Ford a fair bit as it gets then used to playing with him & puts more responsibility on YBY when he plays we others at 10 & hopefully pressure on his starting position. If nothing else the nailed on starters need to be looking over their shoulders, com...

Re: New Kit

Well GM previously said the away strip would be 'marmite', so maybe it's a yucky brown colour! :smt042 It does intrigue me to see if and how they manage to incorporate the words of the club 'ethics' onto the shirts, as he also alluded to previously. Or maybe that was a little ruse? So yellow and bl...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Episode 3 The revenge of the Contracts.

If we are going to spend up to the cap, and the cap doesn't decrease until 2021/22, then why did we need to give players a pay cut now? Do they mean we will spend up to the 21/22 cap? Or is it that everyone has needed to take a pay cut so that marquee players are no longer required and all wages now...

Re: Finishing this season

The idea of giving players experience and not worrying completely about results is great, but we all know that in reality if Borthwick loses his first 3 or 4 matches, he's going to come under huge pressure. There's also no point throwing too many youngsters in together and risk them getting trounced...

That can't be true, he followed Tigers on a social media. Unless it's just a short term deal until he joins Leicester for next season?

I imagine Murphy is extremely relieved with Borthwick finally on board. Keeping the seat warm for so long can be pretty exhausting, especially in such a high pressure situation. Although I don't think he did a great job (it is a results based business after all), well done to him for keeping it toge...

Re: Manu Tuilagi

If it is Exeter it will be interesting how Manu gets on. Secondly,Rowe has just been quoted: “If Sandy Park doesn’t open soon it will be catastrophic for the club!” Two very different outlooks: one from Baxter about the exciting, young, signing (optimistic) then from Rowe who is now seriously worri...

The prospect of Huw Jones doesn't excite me, unless he's a cheap option these days.

Exeter Chiefs

Some of the more avid news readers amongst us may have noticed the battle between fans of Exeter Chiefs about whether their branding is racist or cultural appropriation or not. I don't really know the answer to that, or particularly care, but I have always considered the native American branding to ...

Re: Finishing this season

Nadolo needs to stay on the wing at the moment, Potter is not a ready made Premiership starter for me - give him time.

I would probably go for Worth to start at 15 with Steward on the bench. Again, ease him in and let him adjust before taking off the training wheels. Henry is an option too.

Hugely difficult time for everyone at the club, I'm sure, from Chairman to cleaners. Thank you to all of them for their commitment and for keeping the club going.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 2

All very good news, but still a few key questions to be answered - Taufua & potential new players. The important thing though is that we know we are going into the remainder of the season with a decent core of players and that some incredibly talented and committed players are now signed up long...
