Re: Local rugby
Yes congratulations to Leicester Lions on a brilliant season and I wish them well next year in Nat 1, it will be a big ask. More locally it's the Leics RU County Cup Final on Monday April 24th at Welford Rd. Tickets are available from the Tigers; https://tickets.leicestertigers.com/en-GB/categories/...

Re: Tigers v Exeter (H) - Sunday 16th April 2023 - KO 3-00pm
Think you’re right and I would think Dolly will start. You maybe right but I would start Clare with Dolly off the bench for the last 30 mins. Clare is under rated, he never lets us down, is a great thrower and a big lump in the scrum. Generally we need our very best fit team next weekend, Exeter ar...

Re: 6 Nations 2023
England had a very bad day at the office, but their set piece was pretty solid at the scrum and lineout. It was in the collisions and breakdown that we were smashed. No 9 or 10 was going to enjoy playing behind a retreating pack. Not really sure what the answer is because the selection was pretty go...

Re: 6 Nations 2023
One thing's for sure, tomorrow is a big trial at this level for Smith. Yes he doesn't look so good behind a retreating pack, but neither does Ford (or any half back for that matter), so let's give him a chance and wish him well, there is an exciting match in prospect tomorrow, with decent weather fo...

I agree Porter more of a 13 and Scott a 12 (although both are versatile), but don't agree with Porter covering the bench, he's an international centre (he's also about 15 years younger than JG), we need all the quality we can get on the pitch.
Gopperth is the bench man.

Re: 22/23 Injury & Suspension list
An old chestnut I know but why can the club not do what and I hate to say it but in this context what Sarracens? For me all this keeping your powder dry and not letting the opposition know is bull. https://www.saracens.com/injury-update-march-2023/ I completely agree. That's exactly what supporters...

Good, hope he has a decent game, he's hardly had a pass for England.

Re: Tigers v Bath (H)- Saturday 04th March 2023 - KO 15:00
Yes I think we will win at home, but with that team there is no way that Bath should be bottom of the league!! Very pleased to see Porter back in the 23. Also Simmons deserves his chance in front of Ashton. I'd still play Atkinson at 10 and Pollard at 12 (they can interchange as required) but what d...

Well that was worth a fiver!
Martin immense but also thought Potter was back to form. Youngs better 2nd half.
Great performance by the whole pack. Gopperth needs to be benched next game. Likewise Ashton who looked slow tonight, Simmons deserves his chance.
The whole pack very good.

Yes agreed, we need to make the most of Martin, he'll soon be a regular in the England set up.
I think WW and the squad as a whole, have probably recognised that Montoya is a better on field Captain than Hanro. Both great players and fantastic leaders/characters but in different styles.

I agree Ian.
Dad's Army did very well last week, but personally I would still have Atkinson at 10 and Pollard at 12 until Porter is back.
Simmons unlucky to be dropped for Ashton as well, given his form, I think he would have scored that try last week when Ashton was tackled into touch.

Scott I'm assuming you've had a brain fart and mean Ben C not Tom C?!
There's no way that Earl is a better all round player than Tom C when fully fit.

Re: England squad
I agree HC. Just very surprised Earl has been left out of the 23. He can cover the whole back row and would make more of an impact off the bench than Ben Curry. The backs look good, all of the back 3 are used to playing full back, and are experienced, so they will not be phased by the Welsh kicking ...

Re: Dan McKellar to join Leicester Tigers as Head Coach
Really pleased with Dan as hew head coach. It will be interesting to see who he recruits as assistants......is Vesty's contract up soon?! July 1st is sensible, gives him time to integrate his family into the community and get to know the players before he officially takes over. Really excited about ...
