Re: The Doctor; Doesn't "look to win matches"!!!
If I heard that philosophy from someone else - I don't know, Geech, say, then I might have swallowed it, but from Venter? Never. He said, "But it's not as important as our overall philosophy that rugby is just a tool to make friendships and to improve your character. " How many friends hav...

Re: TEAM'S UP
I agree DickyP, at times this season Alex T has not looked very willing
Otherwise I think it a very strong team. I just wish I was going - it sounds as though it's going to be a great weekend.

I think " chin" is Lee Robinson, though he prefers "chest"!
"Speedy" is Lucas Amorosino (Speedy) Gonzalez
And the Alex one is Tuilagi the elder.
I could be wrong however !

Re: A level playing field? (revisited)
Peter Wheeler is quoted in today's "Times" making a similar point. The French cap is £7.15 million and the Italian £6+ million. He points out that "Toulouse can parade an entire bench of internationals". The competition generates £1.5m from the sponsor plus what each club can man...

However, the day you catch me watching ballet, you have my full permission to shoot me! And me. Expressive art? -my expletive deleted. All you can hear are the thumps of their feet and the squeak squeak of their pumps as they ruin a perfectly good piece of music (although most ballet music is prett...

Re: What age is it acceptable to listen to classical music?
There is no "too young". In days gone by schools played good music to infants in case they were unfortunate enough to come from deprived homes. Now schools 'of to git dahn wiv du kids man' and other ghastly things. However, the corollary is that 18 is too old to be listening to anything th...

Don't be so sure: last weekend's match was not available anywhere I could find. I'm hunting to see what I can find and will post anything that I do.4071 wrote: On the bright side, if it's being broadcast then there is bound to be an online stream somewhere, so you will probably be able to watch it.

Re: Saracens lack of fans
Old Hob, i do object to verulamium being associated with Saracens! Most around here go to Bedford for good matches, Sarries have a training ground at the OA's but to tar and feather us is beyond the pale. OA matches are great entertainment! Apologies Snorbins but you were the nearest major encampme...
