Re: Toulon v Tigers - Challenge Cup Semi

I must have missed something here, but I know that if I was to travel to France for any period of time, so flying in on Saturday, staying for around 6 hours and flying back again, I'd be subject to the mandatory 14 day quarantine period. So, is rugby exempt from the 14 days quarantine period? How ca...

Re: Kobus Van Wyk

I've just noticed that Kobus is not showing on the squad list profile page. Others all seem to be there, including Shalva Mamukashvili. Must just be awaiting an update.

Pro 14 - Coach of the year, guess who!

I don't want to ruffle feathers but....

So, a surprised Mr R Cockerill esq has been named Pro 14 coach of the year. Voted for by peers, club coaches, captains and vice captains. They topped Conference B but missed out on a final play off place losing to Ulster.

How times have changed..

I'm just watching the England v Samoa match from the 2003 World Cup on ITV4 and am gasping at the ferocity and dangerous high tackles. Jason Robinson was nearly decapitated at one point. The game was certainly quicker back then but the penalising of high tackles had to happen. I'm surprised there ar...

Re: Tom Youngs

Let us not forget either how Tom carried on training and playing all through his wife's health battles only a few years ago. What he and they as a family were going through would have broken many blokes. The man has my utmost respect not only for how he conducts himself as a Tiger but also as a husb...

Re: New Kit

Has anyone else had an email from Tigers today about the new shop and kit? The one I have received has some background to the bringing of the retail operation back in-house and says that Tigers and the teamwear partners will be the only stockists of the new official Leicester Tigers gear. It won't b...

Re: New Kit

Not sure if you've seen the Microsite for the new kit yet, but interesting statement about the colours worn by the various levels of player: "Our future players from our ‘Developing Player Programme’ will start their journey in the same black colours the club started its journey in back in 1880...

Re: New Kit

It wouldn't bother me if the home shirt were to one day adopt another design like the change shirt, it doesn't have to be traditional stripes for me but just shades of red green and white. Some years ago, in the Cotton Traders era, one of the home shirts was predominantly green front and back with ...

Re: Season Tickets

A few seasons ago, me and my son were on the receiving end of some abuse from a chap sat behind us. I'm assuming that he and his family sat with him were also season ticket holders as they were always there. This was in the big stand, Caterpillar/Holland and Barrett. What should have been banter tur...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 2

I can’t help thinking that all the noise around this in the media is coming from a small number of sources. Maybe it is Freddie, who as Manu’s agent is trying to get him the best deal. If true, spilling stuff is not in anyone’s interest, club, player or agent. It’s only my opinion, for one I will no...

Re: Price Waterhouse hired for restart.

You heard it here first. It will be a very expensive half-assed report largely unimplemented or ignored. We'll see. Just a thought, I wonder how people on this forum, who may work as a Management Consultant, for PwC or any other Consultancy firm would take your view on the quality of their work? Th...

Re: Price Waterhouse hired for restart.

I'm not sure if the 4 year old story about the US firm (all of the PwC firms operate as independent limited liability partnerships - LLP) has any baring on how the UK firm will perform assisting PRL with the restart.

Re: Sale vs Leicester - 21st February 2020

Sale away is never an easy fixture for Tigers. However, I was at least hoping for a losing bonus point. It may be just the TV camera angle but I thought a couple of Sale tries came from forward passes. But given they weren't pinged I suspect it must be the camera angle. Not sure the ref has had a go...

Re: Saracens are relegated!

And there is still no apology or contrition. This payment structure allowed them to build up a squad of top players, with virtually a doubling up of positions to cover injury, rest and international call ups. I believe Brian Moore described this on a number of linked Twitter posts. While those clubs...
