Re: Injury Update
Owen out for a couple of weeks with a hamstring strain. Genge apparently good to go. He was just making a bit of fuss, the drama queen. Toomua, bone bruising. Depending on severity we're probably looking at 3-8 weeks without him. Let's get one thing straight though, although any injury is not ideal...

Re: Ellis Genge - a target for refs?
Reason for the ref's reaction could be that the ref repeatedly told Genge to walk away which Genge didn't do but stood his ground.

Re: Manu
He is still a young man. In a way these injuries could prolong his career as the rest of his body has had time to recover from the punishment it received while he was starting at a young age. Also perhaps an argument for not pushing youngsters too hard while their body is still developing, until ear...

Re: JP called up by SA for autumn internationals
SA allow their internationals to play overseas unlike Aus. SA coach thought it would be better for JP to come & have preseason with Tigers rather than 4 Nations

Re: New pitch for Ospreys game
Lots of rain will not be the problem as sand on sand gives incredible drainage hence the sprinklers to make sure enough water for the grass. The real problem will be getting enough direct light, not shade, for the grass. Which was a major part of the reseeded area not growing last season. With winter...

Re: Leicester Tigers 2016/17 Squad/Transfers/Contract thread
With our new pitch 50% of our games should be on a decent pitch, of the rest 4 are plastic & most of the rest are decent leaving that 1 not to be mentioned that becomes a mud bath! So why the need of a lump at 8 to play in the mud?

Re: Matt Toomau
Doesn't his present contract with the ARU run to the end of the Championship after which he becomes a Tiger, so an overseas player. But he wouldn't have played 60 internationals so be eligable under ARU rules.

Re: Will Evans
Wouldn't rush him into playing too many games if we have the resources available. He is still a youngster & his body growing so to help him have a long & fruitful career his game time needs to be managed while his body gets used to the brutality of the Premiership.

So I take it that people wouldn't sign Dan Carter on a resonable wage as he has had several injuries.

Re: Umaga England U18
JG I have heard stories that headmasters from Independent Schools going round the local rugby clubs on a Sunday morning offering scholarships to the better players. Also the quote about 10000 hours of practice to make a good player(from American Football) comes into play with most Independent school...

Re: Umaga England U18
TBD I would guess that if the players are good enough to play for England that they would have been offered a scholarship to a private school as Rugby is a dominate sport in private schools and success on the field is much prised.
