Now that would be a little wobbler.....why unless we have signed another groundhog like Salvi?

Re: season of 2 halves

What Dai said, redoubled! I don't think there was a conspiracy, just the players taking some control of their destiny. A great coach works through conflict and cooperation, and my suspicions were that there was too much of the former and not enough of the latter. I also suspect that too much analysi...

Re: Tigers v Bath

we were counting the number of times Catt bound on Castro properly, after the first scrum. We didn't count any! Catt bound on the chest, then pulled Castro round and down, Attwood and co shoved up the left side, hence the wheel attempts. Every damn scrum was a penalty to us! How many given? One on W...

Re: We have to keep Agulla- all threads merged

Faces not fitting has been a constant theme for several seasons, and alluded to on a couple of occasions on ESPN. I'm certain it is the case at most clubs - just occasionally managers transcend the problems and persevere (e.g. Hill with Goodey at Wuss).

Re: Argentinian International Players

The SH arrangement is not for the players it is for the Aus/NZ gang. The 3N is already financially rocky with SA complaining they do most of the travelling. You do know how far it is from Argentina to Aus/NZ compared with Europe/SA? Argentina is an amateur rugby country. There may be income from the...

Re: Argentinian International Players

There was of course a solution in the NH - the side being based in Spain, much much cheaper than a SH champs - but frankly the SH are on to a winner. They get first dibs on good players They don't get caught out at WC as easily If Argentine rugby goes t*ts up at an international and professional lev...

Re: Why don't the laws of the game apply to Leinster?

I honestly think that everyone is confusing several issues. Are Leinster a very good team, deserve their place in the HC, have a good rotational system, look after their players, are well-coached and are a proving ground for younger players? YES Do they play in a league with little consequence? YES D...

Pity that Slater, Croft and Kitchener are out, and George iffy for all you pretend coaches. Think RC's hands are tied.

Re: We have to keep Agulla- all threads merged

As I've posted before, I have spoken with supporters of Stains, Exeter and Wuss - they all think Tigers are bonkers, but both the Wuss and Stains fans were delighted that he didn't have a contract as they see it as an opportunity for other clubs to acquire a gem.

Re: Catt in for England

Nevertheless, I doubt that any coach worth his salt would miss the chance to coach England unless there were circumstances that mitigated against it. In Smith's case there are several which may have been overcome by Mallett as Head Honcho, but where are the others? Much as I don't get impressed by M...

Re: Catt in for England

My money was on Smith being in if Mallett was. Smith was on a hiding to nothing with Lancaster, with Mallett he was siding win a known contender for WC2015.

Re: We have to keep Agulla- all threads merged

Anyone know if this fine player has a contract ANYWHERE next season? Player and Try of the Season will increase his share value! Surely, if we foolishly don't want him, some other big name clubs should be sniffing round, southern hemisphere, or northern who'd welcome a decent post-Christmas boost t...
