Re: If you support a club.....

A colleague and friend has supported Middlesborough FC for 60+ years and his son is now also a fan.
It's more than results and League position.
It's heart, hope and love.

Re: The Tigers Team That Never Was

I think Vunibaka did sign for us but was refused a work visa as he was not an international ( sevens not being counted )
So we only got Serevi who had a mixed time.
I suspect they were a package and we actually wanted Marika more than Serevi.

Well, it could be a good thing if you drop your Christmas dinner as there would be peas on earth.

Europe Head High

Having watched the games so far I have seen real high tackles, over the shoulder, intentional contact with the head, accidental contact with the head and probable contact. Until our game there wasn't a penalty given let alone a yellow card. Commentators said more than once how Premiership it would b...

Re: Online Tickets

Dear Mr Beat,
Unfortunately it is a technical issue as the ticket office informed me on Friday and today, I was just hoping there might have been more information available than try again.

Re: Spencer banned for four weeks

Not wanting to stir at all ( much ) but the consistence point is huge The clearly visible forearm ( Gaskell ? ) to head was ignored as was the offside at kick off - even bad enough for the commentators to point out - this led to pressure and arguably a poor clearance and then points for Wasps in a t...

Re: Tigers has done Manu a disservice - George Ford

I'm not sure that it wasn't England that first started using Manu as an almost exclusively crash ball player. When he started for Tigers ( Tigers v S. Africa ? ) and in early games he was often given the ball ( usually fromA Allen ) into a gap or after a half break so again in room. His power was th...

Always been an admirer, no nonsense, does what it says on the tin kind of guy BUT you absolutely can depend on him. Nothing less than total commitment. More skill and speed than sometimes given credit for. 2 personal highlights; carrying Ashton over the line for that hugely impressive score South We...

Re attendance, I'm 75 miles away and it's snowing so I stayed home.
Given a top of table decider I would have been there without a doubt.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2017/18 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2!!

I used the term chop tackle as shorthand for no arms battering ram style aimed at the joint. Not a legitimate way to tackle and known to cause injury.
Often from the side or behind.
I have no complaint about any proper tackling.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2017/18 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2!!

Quite a few posters have mentioned Mulipola and injuries. I believe that they may be due to deliberate and often illegal targeting of his knees when teams had seen how good he could be in the loose. Repeated chop tackles with no intervention from referee, TMO, citing officer and now he has knee prob...

Re: Manu's efforts for his people

There is no contract to get a bigger share; the home union gets the gate. Nor would a tour in Samoa would level it up. Far smaller grounds and a hugely reduced ticket price - it has been reported they have made losses from home games. Even when we do deign to play any of these teams ( Samoa, Tonga, ...
