Re: Departure of Cockerill

:smt024 It has come as a surprise to me. Yesterday’s game was a revelation - great spirit, attitude and no little skill – yes we lost, but for one error in midfield, and a bit more luck from penalty attempts, the result would have been a good win. So, thanks RC, I guess in sport, at professional lev...

As I recall he was always Number 2 to Deano.

Re: 8th minute Sunday v Racing song

I happen to agree with Iain and I think he spoke sensitively and with integrity. Whenever passions run high, 'robust debate' is usually (and rightly) the order of the day. Occasionally (and unfortunately), such debate descends into personal insult as posters try to invalidate others' opinions as we...

Re: Wearing a tigers shirt abroad

On holiday this year I will be wearing my Green Tigers Polo shirt - ("Disley" manufacture), with the City of Leicester Crest, which I wore to the 2001 European Final. Just a comment on the impressive quality of this shirt really, which has stood the test of time, and 100's of washes.

Apparently I am daft enough - don't think it's bravery!

Saracens Wasps Northampton Gloucester Leicester Exeter Quins Sale Worcester Bath Newcastle Bristol Naturally, as far as We are concerned, I hope I am horribly wrong. I think Gloucester are due a good season, and that may be the difference between 4th and 5th spot. I was very optimistic last year, es...

Re: Sam Yawayawa

No problem - will try. 1. Player getting yellow carded - quite rare I think, at this level, and puts the side under a great deal of pressure. One minute is a long time in sevens. 2. Player knocking on when taking a free kick, whilst in an attacking position. However my comment was based on an overal...

Re: Sam Yawayawa

I only watched the game v Newcastle, and I thought that the team was very poor, and nowhere near the standard I would have expected.

Re: They've only gone and done it!

In my younger days, as a season ticket holder in the Spion Kop, I never had any hopes for City, save staying in Division 1, and giving everyone a good game. Mostly these modest ambitions were met. My biggest fear was that Spurs, who ruined my first FA Cup Final, by doing the double, in 1961, would p...

Re: A bit of perspective

1) They are not machines. Well we won't disagree on that. However what that has to do with an inability to handle the ball properly escapes me. These people are professionals - the basics ought to be second nature. 2) It may have had something to do with the opposition. Not being able to catch the ...

Re: A bit of perspective

We can win games of this magnitude because we believe that we can. We would have won on Sunday with only half the ambition and four times the improvement in quality of execution (basic skills). Why professionals of such standing have to be coached inecessantly in basic handling skills is frankly bey...
