Re: Second rows
Seeing as we have won almost every match so far this season, I would say that "need" is a strong word. It would be nice to have 2 top class locks, but then you have to take the cap from another position on the field. The reality is that if you look at any club in the league, they will have...

Re: "Afters" - Foot on line at throw ins?
As TigerFeetSteve has pointed out, both feet need to be touching the line, not behind it. It doesn't need a referee to confirm that, it is simply what the law is. The diagrams show the lineout thrower being a foot or so behind the line, that's just to make it a simple illustration - if they showed t...

Re: 6 Nations 2022
Seems odd to bring Jack Willis back in so quickly. I get it with Launchbury and Manu, because they are proven top international players - Willis is not and he has been out for a very long time. I thought he was ok against Saints but not a standout performance.

Hard to judge on that, the coaching team have all the data throughout the match that we don't have access to.

Re: 6 Nations 2022
It's almost crunch time, and the good news is that Damien Penaud will surely be in France's starting XV! It'll be a win for les Bleus , but maybe not by the margin that some have spoken about. Can't wait! The beauty of sport is that no outcome is certain until it's happened. If the French team are ...

Re: "Afters" - Foot on line at throw ins?
To be honest I'd be very disappointed if referees started pinging hookers for being 12 millimetres into the field of play. If we start getting that pedantic about the laws then every game will just be 80 minutes of whistling. Might as well go and watch the World Whistling Championships instead.

Re: 6 Nations 2022
It's a shame it took a 2nd minute red card to force England to play with the shackles off but it was refreshing to see the team actually give the opposition something to think about. I really hope we're similarly adventurous in France. I think if we can unsettle them by playing with a high tempo th...

Re: 6 Nations 2022
Aussie super rugby sides look good at the moment because they're only having to play against other Aussie sides. The tackling is unbelievably bad. I would suggest reassessing after they have faced Kiwi sides again. England beat South Africa few months ago. I guess that one doesn't count because it d...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Aled Walters and the Philosopher's Stone
Wasn't one of the main reason's for Gigenga's departure to Irish because he is classed as 'overseas'? If Tigers occasionally juggle with this, I am always bemused by how many of the LI teams are non-epq players, and how many at least appear as if they are from Aus/Argentina/NZ. On another tack - wa...

Re: 6 Nations 2022
Much against my better judgment I found myself supporting the Welsh (at times). They fought well and were unlucky not to win......Jon Davies will be having nightmares about dropping that pass for months to come. So the French are beatable and don't always turn up, even with this much exalted team. ...

Re: Other Fixtures 11th to 13th March 2022
Italy u20s beat the Scots u20s. Shame they can’t progress that form through to the senior side Perhaps they will in a year or so. As someone who is sceptical of the idea that the Italian senior team has improved, I think it's only fair for me to agree that the U20 side has shown consistent improvem...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Aled Walters and the Philosopher's Stone
I personally think this emphasis on having a "proper" 7 on the pitch at all times is a bit dated. Generally people mean they want someone who can get turnovers at rucks, but you don't need to have that at 7 - you just need to have it somewhere on the pitch. Equally, you don't need to have ...

I've also heard the Nadolo going home at the end of the season rumour, but sort of 3rd/4th hand info so no idea how reliable it is.
I hope he stays another year but either way he's been a great Tiger and we've been lucky to see him here. I had my doubts at the start and he's 100% proved me wrong.

Re: What's the best views in the House?
My seat, when I return to it, is in the Crumbie behind the coaches/press. High enough to see all the pitch (apart from one pillar that I'm tempted to saw through). Sat opposite once in the plastic seats, v uncomfortable. Love the noise and the drumming of the feet on the wooden floor, and shushing ...
