Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2018-19
Turner has retired 😂. :smt005 that's me up with the times then. That would make it far more interesting to see who they cut in order to make room for Hogg then. If they feel the need to cut anyone, then Phil Dollman is in his mid-30s and probably doesn't have many years left in him. Seems the obvio...

Re: Autumn Internationals
This sequence of stills shows how close the call was. https://i.imgur.com/76INvei.jpg The grid might be misleading, but I don't think Lawes was in an offside position until the final frame, at which point the ball is already off the ground in the SH's hands. It might be said that his front foot was ...

Re: Autumn Internationals
My god - watch the replay - draw a line from the end of the ruck (BFG -following Italy’s interpretation of the ruck vs England a couple of seasons ago I think World Rugby would call it a ruck) Lawes was offside and then the ruck moved forward a foot or two and Lawes was even more in front of the en...

Re: Premiership Rugby Cup - Tigers vs Worcester
This side gave Sale a clattering last week. Solomon's is giving the first half of the season a lash, no doubt to secure silverware and have a big enough cushion to avoid the drop zone. This is a stronger Wuss side that the one that battered Sale - they've brought back their England squad men (Hill ...

Re: Joe El-Abd
I'd happily offload both Fitzgerald and Mapapalangi to make way for a returning Mafi. Both are good players, but are surely drifting down the pecking order as everyone else is lifting their performances. We're in the happy situation of not needing to bring someone in, but his performance against Exe...

Re: Christian Wade
So just to get this straight, a guy who has been playing top flight club rugby for more than seven years, playing more than 150 matches in that time and scoring close to 100 tries, has played for England and represented the Lions, and has given up a good and certain salary in order to test himself i...

Re: Europe Head High
Cipriani red card for Shoulder upper arm to head against Munster letter of the law absolutely correct. Very well explained by Flatman player safety is paramount In the same game, Billy 12T got smacked in the face by a high tackle from the Munster 8 and no card was forthcoming. It's the inconsistenc...

Re: Christian Wade
If he had been chosen for England and got another 40 caps at £20k per match plus sponsorship opportunities would he have made this choice! In it for the money plain and simple, and that's why England aren't as good as they should be and the player pool isn't as strong as it should be! This implies ...

Re: Christian Wade
Well his heart clearly isn't here and I see the signs in quite a few these days. This is just another sign of the current poor state of rugby in England. Overseas converts and academy starlets more interested in exposure and money and supporters being treated more and more like cash cows. The quali...

Re: Tigers v Scarlets
Quite, an accidental collapsed scrum can be catastrophic, to legitimise collapsing it as a way of negating superior opposition would be reckless. And in theory a deliberately collapsed scrum should still be penalized. This rule about getting the ball out of a collapsed scrum is to prevent the need ...

Re: Tigers v Scarlets
Glad to see Wells getting a lot of love on here. It's amazing that he's racked up so many appearances for so few minutes played. For several seasons now, he's seemed to be considered a permanent a bench option, regardless of how well he's performed in matches. He's really strong at the breakdown - a...

Re: Ulster v Tigers
Yup.
In addition, they rotate those same front row units in the starting lineup. This season they have started 4 matches with a Moon/LCD/Williams unit and 3 matches with a Hepburn/Yeandle/Francis unit. They are yet to start with any other combination of those six players.

Re: Freddie Burns
Freddie absolutely needed to be subbed off. His head had gone at that point, and he would have been a total liability. He was wandering around berating himself instead of focusing on the game. Anyone who thinks that being subbed off at that point was a mistake because it would hit his self-confidenc...

Re: Freddie Burns
George Ford for Freddie Burns. Who got the better deal? Perhaps some have changed their mind. I'd take Owen Farrell over both every day of the week. I'd take Steenson over both to be honest, at least he can kick goals. Keep turning down what should be easy three pointers for a good kicker and conti...

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2018-19
Stooke, Slater and Spencer are deserving of an England place, Atwood and Kruis aren’t. Yet Attwood starts for Bath ahead of Stooke. He's in very good form again. The sort of form that got him a call up a few years back. His time may have passed and England aren't short of other options, but Attwood...
