Re: Is Toby Flood actually any good?

Flood is an exceptional fly half. When he is behind an advancing pack and supported by predatory centres he is quite brilliant. However what really sets him apart is that even when things aren't idea he STILL plays flat and tries to create. With our centres largely clueless today Floody STILL tried...

Re: Is Toby Flood actually any good?

Biffer,it's a team game,I don't think any individual has ever won a game for anyone. The odd foolish or rash sending off has maybe cost a game, but I can't remember Floody ever doing that. Of course it's a team game, but I can remember games where I think Manu / Castro / Stankovich / Waldrom / Murphy...

Which games did he win, against top quality opposition, using his hands not his boots?

Re: Is Toby Flood actually any good?

I've been thinking it for a while to be honest. Anytime a good French or Irish team goes after him, or any time France NZ ro SA go after him at internaionat level, he doesn't stand up to it and has a poor game. Some poor games and some good games in that situation would be fine, but he's poor every ...

Is Toby Flood actually any good?

This might upset people but I don't think he's much more than average. He's mae to look good by the players around him, both for Leicester and for England. Most of the time the rest of the back line of the opposition doesn't match up man to man against his team, so he doesn't have his weaknesses exp...

Re: Players boycott RFU WC reviews

So, let me get this straight. The players LIKE the coach who lets them go out and party, but only gets them to the quarter finals. They DON'T like the guy who was a bit more disciplinarian and got them to the final. Hmmmmm.

Re: £10,000 fine for France

Absolutely pathetic. Not only do NZ sing their National Anthem, they also get to perform the Haka. Now the IRB are dictating how receiving teams address the haka? They should be able to address it however they like but with respect. England should insist on morris dancing before a game, Ireland sho...

Re: £10,000 fine for France

It's ridiculous. The fact that they've changed the haka means that they're piddling about with their own traditions. If they don't respect them themselves, why the hell should anyone else? I thought the French response on Sunday was magnifique, the arrowhead moving forwards must have looked brillian...

Yeah, that's what I think too. Unbeaten in the Premiership is definitely possible, but beating Clermont over there is a huge ask.

Re: New Zealand World champions

Kiwis did their best to bottle it, but Craig Joubert helped them over the line. High tackles, uneven reffing at the breakdown, McCaw lying in the way consistently. Quite how McCaw gets away with it I don't know, but I'd be interested to see what pictures he's got of the refs and what they're doing i...

Re: ...and that'll be the last we see of Alain Rolland too.

At first I thought it was harsh, but more and more I'm leaning towards it being the correct decision.

Re-read Chunter's link for the instructions to referees (which were re-emphasised before this tournament)

Re: Bryce Lawrence may quit

Bryce Lawrence is truly dreadful. The only mitigant is that he's so incompetent it's hard to discern any deliberate bias. Unfortunately that tends to mean whoever cheats the most around the tackle area wins, and that has tended to favour S Hemisphere and Ireland in recent years. Joubert is the best...

According to wiki it's the second smallest gound being used, so I think that's unlikely.

Grounds for 2015 here

Is it me or are they being over ambitious? Would we honestly sell out Wleford Road for Romania v Japan, for example?
