Re: Unbeaten until Xmas

We're only 10 points behind 4th place. With 16 games to go. Not exactly a million miles, is it? Then take into account Harlequins are top, they will drop away at least a little due to half the other teams suddenly becoming a lot stronger. Same Goes for Sale. London Irish are 4th, we have to play the...

Re: New Zealand World champions
That wasn't really my point - the issue was that ITV didn't replay it so we never got the chance to see.
There was a replay shown after it happened. Definitely not deliberate in any way at all.

Re: New Zealand World champions

France didn't deserve to be anywhere near the final, but NZ won due to the appallingly partial referee.

Lowest scoring WC Final ever, and possibly the worst WC ever. Ruined by negative, unambitious rugby and shockingly bad referees.

Re: Lewis Moody retires from international rugby.

Definitely doing the right thing, for England and himself. Hopefully this will help him extend his club career an extra season or two.

It's a shame other senior members of the England team don't have the same sense of dignity and responsibility.

Re: ...and that'll be the last we see of Alain Rolland too.

Correct decision, there's no place for that kind of tackle in the game.

Somehow, Wales still deserved to win and would have if their kicking was just slightly more accurate.

France - could they be the worst team ever to reach a World Cup final?

Re: Oh Manu

Back on the original subject of Manu, it seems as though he's in desperate need of a more sensible mentor type figure around him. Obviously he wasn't just sat on his own on a ferry and decided to jump off, he will have been encouraged and egged on by others. I seriously worry about young players com...

Re: More bad news about England

Hopefully the early exit from the WC will bring a few of these guys back down to earth. Sadly though, I doubt it.

I'm embarrassed to be an England rugby supporter, and I feel sorry for those well behaved members of the squad who are surely even more embarrassed to be a part of it.

"Based on RWC performance"...... Waldron just flew home for a couple of days. Scott Williams was instramental in the English defeat at the MS Contradicting yourself a little bit leicscarlet... Also try typing your post in Word first and spellchecking it - although that won't help you with...

Re: England World Cup Review

The thing that worries me most about the England management (and by this I don't just mean Johnson) is that there seems to be no evidence of planning and strategy in terms of team selection and tactics. If you look back over recent years, England selection seems to be typified by stubbornness in ref...

England World Cup Review

D. Cole Had an OK tournament, just about held his own overall int he scrum, didn't offer much else. Hopefully he'll have learnt a lot from the experience and will come back stronger. A. Corbisiero Should have played more after Sheridan went home. Looked far stronger in every area than Stevens. Shoul...

Re: It's clean-out time.

Definitely time for a clear out. We were making progress last year and during the 6N, but then Johnno bottled it before the WC and went back to his safe, dependable, old hands, who turned out to be nothing but the latter. I don't think he is the right man to lead a new, young and exciting England te...

Vickery...

Phil Vickery, criticising Toby Flood "You need to take a look at yourself before you point the finger at others".

Very true Phil, but doesn't that undermine your entire commentary?

England getting what they deserve, but at least Tigers will get their players back a little sooner.

Regardless of tactics etc, Youngs was poor against Scotland. Too many of his passes weren't accurate enough.

Re: Independent's campaign against England

Mark Cueto's response is interesting. He says the players "haven't done anything hugely wrong". This attempted defence of his teammates clearly implies that he does think they did something wrong, even if it wasn't "huge". I'm inclined to think that the lack of discipline off the...
