Re: International Eligibility

I agree with the change of nationality for tier 2 scenario. I would want there to be stricter regulations still for this situation, e.g. has to be country of birth and/or a longer residency period. None of this is anything new, doesn't mean we have to agree with it though. What is relatively new is ...

International Eligibility

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/rugby-union/2024/02/28/eligibility-law-six-nations-england-scotland-ireland/ Thoughts? Article about national eligibility in Rugby Union, switching allegiances etc. Focuses on Van der Merwe, Tompkins, Feyi-Wabosi and James Lowe. I would strongly agree that eligibility sho...

Re: Trailfinders a sad indictment of rugby

I agree with a lot in the article. The physicality is a huge part of what we love about rugby and it's what makes the sport unique.

We shouldn't be scared of being controversial or not being loved by everyone.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - Crocodile McKeller: Men at Work

I've lived in Leicester, Bath, Exeter, London and Manchester. Leicester is definitely bottom of that list, although I'll concede that Northampton would probably be even lower! All personal opinions, different people want different things. I'm not sure what, though, you can get in Leicester that isn'...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - Crocodile McKeller: Men at Work

Unfortunately he wanted to live in London which put us out of the running. Wonder where that leaves Olly Hartley who is currently at Sarries as a centre. He seems to be highly rated, and came off the bench for England A on Sunday. London isn't that far on the train. Hartley looks to be the long ter...

Re: Trailfinders a sad indictment of rugby

What you would call negativity is what I would call realism. I just feel you get in a negative mental spiral with this stuff. Anyhow, a rabbit hole which we should probably stop going down. There are plenty of unalterable reasons why Prem rugby is not as commercially successful as the French pro le...

Re: Trailfinders a sad indictment of rugby

As I say too much negativity, it can't be done, it is inevitable, most people don't want to watch/understand rugby type attitude. Mistakes have been made in the past - let's learn from them. It's important to understand the strength of other clubs is important to us as our health is to them. Being ...

Yes.
+1

Same with the Ireland or Safrican XVs.

Re: Trailfinders a sad indictment of rugby

There isn't an idea I detest more than creating regional franchises in English rugby. However... many of the same arguments were made against cricket's The Hundred, and that competition is attracting TV viewers and attendances that the county game could only dream of. I would just point out that re...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - Crocodile McKeller: Men at Work

So you agree as a back up 8 Liebenburg has been decent for us. As I said we couldn't use him as a like for like Weise replacement but if we were to introduce a big number 6 like say Dave Ewers ,who is rumoured to be leaving Ulster, then across the two of them you could make it work. The big 6 takin...

Re: Trailfinders a sad indictment of rugby

While there are enough wealthy men happy to subsidise Prem clubs the game will limp on in it's current form.

If enough of those people pull out, we will be left with franchises or clubs cutting their salaries.

Re: Next seasons season ticket

Tiglon is happy that they are putting prices up in order for us to remain competitive, sounds good but the trick is to increase revenue, if higher ticket prices means fewer renewals the net result maybe a loss of income. As a Direct debit customer i have received a notification thanking me for rene...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - Crocodile McKeller: Men at Work

I disagree. I think Liebenburg has been decent at 8 for us. Before this season he's generally been the back up option behind first Taufua and then Weise. With the right 6 he could definitely drop back into that role for us but it would need to be a big physical 6. That's not entirely true. Last sea...
