Re: Scarlets visit

Strong side.. missing the obvious absentees of Montoya, Van Staden, Wiese and Moroni which shows our great strength in depth this season.. Will be interesting to see how Steward gets on on the wing again.. 2 tall wingers with Nadolo and Steward. Guess that's what pre-season matches are for to try a...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: There and Back again a Tigers Tale by Steve Borthwick

I am sure WW can coach slowing down ball at every breakdown & then just kicking it pretty easily Back in his Sale days he used to be a real threat around the breakdown with his sniping breaks. Age has meant he doesn't really have the acceleration for that anymore. Remember JVP is almost young enoug...

As good as they were as players,Smith and WW worry me in charge of attack. I’m thinking the same. Smith was good in defence but he hardly got bums off seats in attack. I hope they join the ranks of those coaches who can formulate a more exciting attacking strategy than they themselves could deliver...

Re: Tigers vs Dragons - Saturday 4th September

I'd agree tbh, and without meaning this as a criticism, he's certainly not dropped any weight since joining us, so I can't imagine he's going to suddenly do so now. He dropped a few kg between leaving Montpellier and making his Tigers debut. He's not the quickest but he's rarely caught out of posit...

Re: Saracens

Why don't they have European games? Maybe England just have 12 spots across the 2 comps. No, more like its Chris111 mis-using "Europe" when actually meaning the Champions Cup (a very common and confusing occurrence). All teams from the Premiership, Top14 and URC play in "Europe", either in tbe Cham...

They’ll make the playoffs, I’m sure. Squad depth will be reduced, of course - but they don’t have European games so their fixture list will be considerably lighter than usual!

Genuine question, what does a season long loan mean? For someone very young I guess it's to get game time, for someone several seasons into a professional career is it an 'almost there, still potential but no quite up to it yet'? Or is it purely to get the salary off the books until required then c...

Re: The start of the end?

Can we trust teams to use substitutions for “injury” reasons though? I cant and that’s a sad indictment of the game today! Maybe we go back to the 70s, when a substitution was only made after an independent doctor declared a player unfit to continue. Remember the desperation of Derek Quinnell to ge...

Re: Nottingham and Tigers announce an formal cooperation agreement

I was at Coventry today. Great to be back watching rugby again and a reasonable crowd turned up. Notts struggled first half, too many errors, discipline poor (McNulty yellow) but some strange decisions by the officials as well....32-0 down at half time. Second half all change and much better, young...

What a dreadful advert for international rugby. Argentina seemingly targeting the world record for penalties conceded. Any ideas on what Erasmus sees in Le Roux?

Former tigers Brian Tuilagi captains London Scottish in their preseason game v Ebbw Vale Rory Hughes starts for them with Javiah Pohe on the bench. Pohe looked like a potential world beater during his time in the Academy. Anyone know of his progress after leaving Tigers? He’s been playing for Hinck...

Details on Moroni, think this rules him out the Rugby Championship? So will he come to us early during rehab?
I think there’s more than 4 weeks of the competition left.

Re: Nottingham and Tigers announce an formal cooperation agreement

With no "A" league and talks going on with Bill Beaumont with a view to doing away with subs, there could be a lot of players looking for a game. Thought the A league is back on this season. Nothing on the Tigers nor the Premiership rugby sites about any games, no cup either. Maybe because they don...
