Re: Weekend Games - 29th April to 1st May 2022

Competition is a great thing. I only saw the highlights from yesterday but Steward seems to have found his footwork and maybe gained an extra yard of pace. Agree about the other 2. Most impressive things for me with Arundell today was how he changed the game around. His try was great, but the was h...

Re: Bristol (Home) - 30th April 2022 KO 15:00

We get a lot of comments about scoring lots of tries through the rolling maul and forwards but 7 of our 8 tries were scored by backs yesterday. Some of the tries were absolutely world class too.. I know Bristol are having a poor season but they did beat Glos last round so are no pushovers There wer...

Re: Bristol (Home) - 30th April 2022 KO 15:00

I'm not convinced by the whole "two playmakers" thing. I don't think Burns does any more "playmaking" at 15 than Steward or anyone else does, we just make assumptions because he's primarily a fly half but when at 15 he mostly seems to play the role of a 15. Are you saying all 15...

Will be interesting to see how the attack functions without a second playmaker in the backs. Does put a lot on Ford.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Burns come on at fullback at some point.

Re: Weekend Games - 29th April to 1st May 2022

Looks to me like Saints almost have the 4th spot sewn up. Just need to beat Newcastle at home unless Gloucester beat Quins & Sarries (unlikely!)

For Dombrant or Green? If Dombrant deemed at fault then really should be cited.

Been a bit off since his injury. Hopefully doesn’t last much longer.

Re: 21/22 Injury/Suspension Thread

so probably at least 3 weeks ban incoming for Chessum, Kelly could be out anything from 3 weeks to 3 months, luckily we have cover for both I think that’s Chessums first red so should be able to turn it into 2 weeks by going on the course. Interesting to see if they challenge the red Personally thi...

Chessum struggling too.
Massive loss not to have Kelly - hope he’s back soon. We have other good centres but no real other distributing inside centres. Always think our attack is not as good without Kelly.

To add to this noticed extinction rebellion are planning protests in London on 9th April. No idea what this means in practice but would suggest to be wary of driving/getting bus to Eurostar on Saturday morning.

Re: Refs and Sarries

I don’t think refs are biased toward Sarries just that they make mistakes and are human. Decisions are scrutinised so much and also taking a long time to make a decision is now heavily criticised. For example seemed to me that Barnes was getting very annoyed with Phipps in the Irish - Saints game so...

Re: Weekend Games - 01st to 03rd April 2022

Laws discuss the direction of the ball relative to the teams own try line and it was Sky sports commentators in Australia who seemed to kick off the hands thing and there are some videos online of players running and passing with the hands clearly backwards but the ball goes forwards due to the run...

Re: Bristol in the mire

Was obvious Bristol had done this so was expecting them to have to shed a few players for next season. Other clubs could be Exeter (already seen a number of leavers), and maybe Saracens Surprised they’ve cocked it up - don’t Bristol fans always boast their owner is an accountant or am I making that ...

Re: Exeter (A) - Sunday 27th March 2022

Pretty sure sthrntiger was saying that our best chance to win things is to get Ford in form, not that he is in form. Surely that should be the priority now rather than just say screw it he hasn't played much recently so let's just forget about him? :smt017 Yep that was my point. My view is a match ...
