Re: Tiger vs Saracens (H) - Sunday 19th February 2023 - KO 3-00pm

This has inspired me to make myself available for selection next week as well. Fly half/Full back, safe pair of hands, plenty of gas, educated right foot (full disclosure: defence a bit suspect) but I'll give it my best shot although ... thinking about I might have lost a yard or two of pace (being ...

Re: Freddie Burns departing - date to be confirmed

Agree wholeheartedly with all of above but during 6N we could really do with him for the next couple of months. Or do we assume he's already unavailable through injury?

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2022

Rather enjoyed Austin's little dig at the end of the Bath/Leicester match commentary. After complimenting their much improved 2nd half performance he said "Bath Warriors" just about deserved their victory!

Re: Autumn Internationals 2022 - Non England games

Ps to above. I thought that the ABs got away with more than one brutal " no arms" shoulder charge type tackles ( like the ones Manu used to specialise in). One particularly blatant one stopped Van Der Mewe in his tracks and the tackler ( not sure who it was) looked around guiltily as if to...

Re: Autumn Internationals 2022 - Non England games

It was good to see Frank Murphy in his new role and I agree with both the above judgements on his performance. However the harsh/wrong (imo) decisions in the last 15 minutes were the influential match result-changing ones. I watched the endless replays of the Dempsey yellow. As I discovered just yes...

Re: England Squad - Autumn Internationals

For me the most remarkable feature of the AI England Selections is the fact that 15 of our "top" players were unavailable for selection due to injury. It seems a mighty high figure to me although it's difficult to make comparisons with recent years as it's not always clear who might have b...

9, 10 & 12 have 110 years between them. Just thought I'd mention that.

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2022

The loan of four players - including two top players - will significantly strengthen Bath for one month and it does raise issues of fairness. Opponents in October and early November might feel hard done by having to play a Bath team that is significantly stronger than the ones faced by opponents luc...

Re: 22/23 Tigers Kit

This probably doesn't belong in this section but not sure where else to put it. There is a much repeated ad on Sky Sports for "Fanatics" a company that seems to specialise in replica sportswear. The advert features various sportsmen and sportswomen modelling kit. Not sure whether they are ...

Agreed. I'm no expert on the twittersphere but it just sounds to me like a polite bloke saying thank you to the club

Re: Premiership Final v Saracens - 18th June 2022 KO 15:00

It was obviously an excellent day out on Saturday and Twickenham looked pretty near a full house although I haven't seen any published figure and I wondered whether anyone seen the official figure?

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Aled Walters and the Philosopher's Stone

I suppose (being a little tongue in cheek) we are developing a reputation as a retirement home for elderly backs. A possible backline in September of; say: Wigglesworth, Burns, Wade, Gopperth, Ashton & Nandolo would clock up an impressive number of years!
