Re: The clown on the microphone
"What visiting fans do as part of their own protocols for their own kickers is surely up to them. It was noticeable to me that the Clermont fans were 100% silent during Tigers kicks at goal and that Tigers fans reciprocated for Clermont kickers."
Precisely!

Re: The clown on the microphone
I'm glad it wasn't just me who was becoming annoyed by the constant shushing before every kick. It was pretty obvious the Clermont fans do make some noise during their kicks and they weren't going to stop. I thought the announcer might eventually cotton on but apparently not.

Re: Best cheap christmas presents?
I've bought my son a musical bottle opener from eBay. Couldn't get a Tigers one so it is an England football one (sorry!) that plays the theme from the 'Great Escape' every time you open a bottle of beer with it. If he doesn't like it (not very likely) I'll keep it! :smt023 Bird feeders are very goo...

It makes a change. I usually find it is footballers who use 'You know' every other sentence.

Re: Wasps in another pitch controversy
Precisely! No way should it be possible for a team to decide whether it plays or not.bluntiger wrote:I blame the rule-makers.
Law-makers should make it the referees decision (with clear guidelines) whether a pitch is playable. Then if a team fail to play, they forfeit the points.

Disappointing for Tigers but I do hope he has a good match for his country, albeit a friendly.

Re: Fake £20 notes
The only forged bank note I ever came across looked OK, it just didn't feel right. The quality of the paper was all wrong but perhaps that was just a poor forgery. I did hear of someone the other day who took two forged £20 notes they had been given into a bank and demanded they be changed for legit...

Re: Whats the opposite of an alchemist?
As well as turning base metals into gold, alchemists also searched for the elixir of life, something that would cure all diseases.
With a bit of luck Dan might cure the English disease, i.e. the lack of any inspiration and individuality.

Re: What's the world coming to??
I am also sorry to felt I was being indelicate about your dislike of seeing hypodermic injections being administrered but, in my opinion, that is not in the same league as using 'dribbling geriatrics' as a reference to older people on national TV! I was using my dislike of hypodermics as an example...

Re: What's the world coming to??
2. The majority of my elderly relatives, i.e. my parents' generation, are dead. In the past 10 years, my mother, mother-in-law, three uncles and two aunts along with several close family friends have died. Some of these were literally dribbling geriatrics in the latter stages of life , i.e. they ha...
