Re: Sean Edwards

I'd have him in a heartbeat. Proven international pedigree, has got a team to over perform, look at Wales defense this 6N, they won the slam, despite not looking like world beaters.

Re: ARE THERE ANY LAWS IN THE GAME THAT YOU WOULD CHANGE?

Having feet on the ground if you are catching the ball. Gets rid of the silly 'duty of care' when a player is in the air.
A rule that says if the ball is playable at the scrum, it should be played and no penalty should ensue. Unless a scrum collapse prevents a try.

Re: Manu to Racing 92? No! - Re-signed for Tigers!!!

Pleased , but also Mixed feelings . We will still have the problem next Season that a very large proportion of the wage cap will be spent on players who are only playing a relatively small number of games for Tigers . Seems stupid to run a Business where your major Salary earners do not turn up to ...

Re: Kieran Reid

There's always exceptions to the rule. But Thorne did one season, Matfield blew hot and cold. I wouldn't say either was a long term success

Re: Kieran Reid

I'd prefer the young and hungry, not the old and tired. He's won everything in the game, can't see the adrenalin flowing for him for club matches. Dan Carter hasn't exactly hit the heights, neither has Nonu. Rugby is a game where you put your body on the line, with the best will in the world that's ...

Re: Scarlets and Ospreys

Many Swansea supporters never made the switch from St Helens to the Liberty and even fewer from Neath. However Ospreys have been the most successful Welsh team and it must take a special brand of Old Fart to sacrifice them for the gamble of creating a viable rugby team in North Wales. From my point...

Which is a really good reason not to chase the established, expensive internationals whose heart is in another country. Lets stop pining for some South Africans!

Re: Tigers v Wasps

He asked the right question too. If he hadve gone down the other route of "any reason why I can't award the try" it would've been given and that would've been a travesty. That question imo needs to be completely done away with, why should it be a lottery? If every angle is looked at there's no clear...

Re: Tigers v Wasps

[/quote] JPD's comment was "Very hard to say it's a deliberate or wilful act - or reckless even." His main concern was whether the act was deliberate or wilful but intent is irrelevant under the laws. For JPD, the consideration of it being reckless was as an afterthought or adjunct to intent yet "re...

Re: Tigers v Wasps

He didn't call it no try, he didn't make a decision at all. I think it was a try, and in the old days it would probably be given. Who remembers the days of the ref waiting for the pile of bodies to move before awarding the try? Nowadays, with the TMO, the situation is different. There was no clear g...

Re: George Ford target for Rugby Super League?

Can't see this seiously happening. Rugby league is tiny in comparison. Not just the wages, the international scene is nothing like Union.
