Re: A Deafening Silence

and during the malaise last year we reached a premiership final - many clubs would like a malaise like that I agree we are not having a good year - but one can also blame The world cup , a ridiculous schedule, a wage cap that hamstrings us verus other European countries and a bad string of injuries...

Re: Is it a coincidence?

The Management are very worried about what is going on here--on the forum--and it is blindingly obvious some posts are anulled... Lets see if this one gets on ? Oh god don't flatter yourself. If the professionals in charge of this club took what this forum said to heart, there'd be no playing, coac...

Re: Headhunters to help RFU choose next England coach

Well the RFU have money to waste, then? So after £m spent they come up with Mallett, Cotter and Kirwan?

Re: Is it time to thank Cockers for his efforts? - Part 2

I have been an RC supporter and to some degree continue to be. However it is clear the coaching team needs a considerable overhaul (backs coach, defence, breakdown). This cannot be done in-house any more. If RC is a major block on the route to change he should go; if, as I have thought till recently...

Re: No Change Management = Then Plan to fail ?

Change management is normally used as a tool for high level blame storming sessions. What is criminal in business is setting yourself down a path, and not analysing the results and acting on that analysis. When things go wrong, you have to be fluid enough to change. What the board have set in motio...

Re: English clubs cannot compete - Richard Cockerill

12Ts had a shocker at 10 against wasps - the two tries and the place kicking hid this to a certain extent but his management of the backline was awful. you cant just blame the coaches for that - and the same on friday. you can blame the coaches for sticking with 12Ts rather than staunton at 10 thou...

Re: English clubs cannot compete - Richard Cockerill

Against Wasps the backs moves were out of the U12s playbook. We haven't got decent backs coaching. It shows.

Re: This is not Soccer

This has gone hand in hand with numbers disappearing off the back of players (e.g. Hartley in at least three matches this season). Nothing wrong with 'Captain', 'No7 you did not roll away) and so on. This is the big upset I have with Lee Dickson - his abuse and 'gamesmanship' is appalling, with obsc...

Re: English clubs cannot compete - Richard Cockerill

The reasons for the disparities have been well -rehearsed. (I do not include Saffacens in this since there is something manifestly odd about their financing). AP teams do not have the French cash or the ProD12 closed league, with their concomitant advantages. The Welsh are rapidly following on our h...

Re: Bashing tigers time again!

I was surprised not to see a nasty report. To be honest no-one is that interested in Tigers any more since the Saffas love-fest kicked in with the ludicrous England selections. We are very nuch yesterday's team, and unfortunately an element of that is valid.

There has been a thread running a while about kicking away possession. There has been a thread running for two years about backs coaching.

Re: Bashing tigers time again!

kpbates, my post was not specifically aimed at you who, as you say, noted our problems, but at those who don't want to see them, and view any critical comments as victimisation. Apologies for not being clear. I don't often agree with you, but this is the exception. I hate being labelled as a non-su...

Re: Is it time to thank Cockers for his efforts? - Part 2

A wise post, Sapajo I did not think that RC should go. I still think - as I have done for nearly two seasons - that MOC just isn't good enough. RC needs people who are competent. In my cups last night I even shuddered at the thought of RC resigning and MOC remaining. :smt009 But this is the beginnin...
