Re: Ravens or Tigers

Could be Tigers, but given the two academics are from Bath Uni, and they interviewed a 'recently appointed Head Coach' (Hooper?), my guess would be that they stayed fairly local for their research. Published research would have data collection 2 years ago or so, unless this was not a peer- reviewed...

Re: Scrums of comfort

Still think having a solid scrum is essential - England's failings in the World Cup final really started with the scrum. We beat Harlequins thanks to our scrum (and having one of their players yellow-carded for it). Doesn't mean you need a dominant scrum, but being able to not go backwards (on all ...

Word from Chiefs end (via sister and her mates) is that Rowe STILL thinks Sarries are cheating, and he knows a lot of the cheating wrinkles himself :smt004

Re: Exeter Chiefs 21st December

I know Reffell and Lewis have played well when given the chance, but Calvisano and Cardiff are rather different propositions to Exeter so it isn't completely crazy to not want to expose either of those guys just yet. Still, Green at 6 seems an odd one, and in a game we're not expected to win why no...

Re: Exeter Chiefs 21st December

Sorry to repeat myself but 'political correctness' is a Maoist term and was used by the Daily mail to be derogatory about people who wanted gender. ethnic equality and lack of discrimination. I find the 'Chiefs' bit offensive, they were Exeter RFC and still are as far as many of their older fans are...

Leicester Tigers announces today that Lord Digby Jones and Terry Gateley are stepping down from the Board of directors at the end of the year.
The UK wouldn't miss Digby Jones.

Re: Exeter Chiefs 21st December

It’s commercialisation, wholly inappropriate and racist, it should have been stopped years ago but Premiership were/and still are too weak to do so. It’s not isolated though is it. A number of American sports team with Native American connections through their name have exactly the same thing. You ...

I can't stand listening to that wailing!
A large number of Exeter fans are completely fed up with the 'Tomahawk chop". Most of my sister and brother's mates (fans from way back before Sandy Park) are at the ' shut up' stage with it. It is perhaps Chiefs Ultras that keep doing it!

Re: Exeter Chiefs 21st December

Frankly it will depend on the ref. Have an astute but picky one like Barnes, their blocking runs and sealing off dives may get penalised. Have a non-ref, and we may get clobbered. We have the power up front to stop them, it will test our maul and close defence.

Re: Mark Bakewell - gone? (Rumour)

:smt023 Exactly what are these conspiracy theories? From what I can see there seem to be 2. The first that the board are deliberately trying to run the club into the championship, not sure why but it’s certainly the impression I get. Maybe they’ll then be able to sell the ground and build a bigger ...

Re: Kyle Eastmond

Unfortunately for Eastmond, his leg injuries (mainly his calf I believe) have meant he has never really been able to string together appearances and whilst has offered moments of his brilliance he has been nowhere his 14/15 form for Bath. It was clear he was grabbed with both hands, hoping he and F...

Re: Transfers and Rumours Non-Tigers 2019-20

I’m not nor have ever said they are too low or too high , simply commenting on an article I had read that rugby players do not have the earning potential that many think. It is then people getting on their high horses and saying how can they survive on that, how can they be paid so much more than d...
