Re: Mark Bakewell - gone? (Rumour)

:smt023 Exactly what are these conspiracy theories? From what I can see there seem to be 2. The first that the board are deliberately trying to run the club into the championship, not sure why but it’s certainly the impression I get. Maybe they’ll then be able to sell the ground and build a bigger ...

Re: Kyle Eastmond

Unfortunately for Eastmond, his leg injuries (mainly his calf I believe) have meant he has never really been able to string together appearances and whilst has offered moments of his brilliance he has been nowhere his 14/15 form for Bath. It was clear he was grabbed with both hands, hoping he and F...

Re: Transfers and Rumours Non-Tigers 2019-20

I’m not nor have ever said they are too low or too high , simply commenting on an article I had read that rugby players do not have the earning potential that many think. It is then people getting on their high horses and saying how can they survive on that, how can they be paid so much more than d...

Re: This Weekend in Europe

Looking like a BP win for Cardiff so as it’s stands pool 5 looks like this: 1) Leicester 14 2) Cardiff 11 3) Pau 5 4) Calvisano 0 Nice to see something positive for a change! :smt001 It would obviously be of huge benefit to us if Pau can do a job on Cardiff next week as well as us winning in Calvis...

Re: Tigers v Calvisano - Teams up!

:smt023 ... a few fans dared to enjoy a game. Enjoy the day. My 3-year-old had a whale of a time. Absolutely loved it, was shouting come on Tigers at every opportunity. A brilliant day out for me and my boy and the other 23 boys won and put 50 points on the opposition to make it a very memorable day...

Re: Championship Rugby

Nope. But I suspect we will still be in the Euro Challenge zone. And I personally don’t have a problem with that. I don’t see any point in having to play players in 6 extra top flight games in a competition we’re not currently in the position to win. Just my opinion of course quite so! :smt023

Re: Tigers v Calvisano

One reason we got hammered at Saints was that it was the 1st game of the season some combinations had played together - not the only one but an important reason. Not sure I agree with that. The forward pack have had game time together and 4 of the 7 of our back line have been training and playing t...

+1 for Genge.

Top man , cares and has heart and a conscience.

I’m right behind him. He is what we should be .
For me, he, Shazam and Ford exemplify what Tigers used to be about, guile, heart and bloodymindedness.

Re: Do they read this forum

No apologies for feeling that the sheer bloodymindedness and rugby nous of Tigers evident in the 2000s has evaporated in the late 2010s.

Re: SIMON COHEN AND TOM SCOTT

I am a lifelong Tigers fan and regular reader of this message board. I enjoy the debate here and find it a great source of information about the club and fans views. I have previously never felt I could add much to the debate, but given my business background, in this instance I felt it would be us...

Re: CRISIS: WHAT CRISIS?

I suppose it could be argued the player cartel and the lack of skill set meant that Mauger was always doomed to fail but he hasn’t exactly set the world on fire for the Highlanders. According to my source at the time, long gone, Mauger was the favourite of some senior players, whereas Cockers empha...

Re: SIMON COHEN AND TOM SCOTT

The motive for my post is to point out that the responsibility for the sustained decline lies with the current controlling shareholder and management, and that this can only be reversed if there is root and branch change here. Blaming the various sub standard coaches they have appointed over the pa...

Re: CRISIS: WHAT CRISIS?

Anyone remind me why we got rid of Mauger again so quickly? I suspect it was because he introduced a proper warm up session, and the old boys didn’t like it. He also wanted a move away from the traditional 10 man game espoused by Cockerill as other teams worked out the (one and only) game plan. And...
