Re: Do they read this forum

Only £120k a year? And I thought poverty in the UK was a thing of the past! As pointed out, most will be on less than this. Some considerably less. And they have to pay tax too? I'm glad I don't have to pay tax... oh wait, I do. Except I probably pay a lot more tax because i don't get paid for imag...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2

Sorry Mark62, but you're wrong, Brits is much better than Thacker. I know Brits didn't win many caps, but Thacker hasn't even played once for the Springboks - even at age group level! Also Brits has an awards ceremony named after him in the music industry, what's Thacker done for music? Nothing, tha...

Call me cynical... have they announced the team a day early to try sell some more tickets....
Sounds like a sensible idea when most of us were expecting the B team. Might persuade a few more fans to buy tickets, which would be good for the club. I support the club so I'm in favour of that...

Why would you NOT announce it?

1). Borthwick wants it kept quiet
Why would he?

2). RFU proving difficult
Not unheard of

3). It’s not Borthwick
Why wouldn't Borthwick have denied it?

4). They haven’t got anyone lined up
Very possible

5). There is NO PLAN!
Time to panic

Re: Murphy coaches and relegation

I think not, it must happen now as by then it may be to late. Are we all talking at cross purposes? The Head Coach role is clearly Borthwick's in waiting and the DoR is Murphs role. As such, i'd argue the DoR role is responsible for long term planning and implementing that plan/vision. So far I thi...

Re: Saints away - Saturday 30th November

Who would you rather have ?? Olafewla 10 stone or Nayaravoro 20 stone ? Sums up half the Tigers these days. Especially the blinking locks and back row, bar Thompson. Back in the long distant past, the only lightweight was Les flipping Cusworth. Varndell at least scored tries for fun. Now our recent...

Re: Tigers v Calvisano

A first team thrashing Calvisano achieves nothing. Most of what works against a team like that will not have the same result against a premiership side. If it did raise confidence it would be misplaced confidence - if any player or coach felt that a single one of our problems were solved after stick...

Re: SIMON COHEN AND TOM SCOTT

Regardless of share holding our Chairman has been throughout Peter Tom who's sixty years (approximately) service to the club is beyond doubt. At present we are told that despite interest from three potential investors no decision has been made to sell the club, we are merely testing the market. Tho...

Re: Saints away - Saturday 30th November

It doesn't look like all the aimless kicking is a plan. But every time they hold onto the ball for more than one phase all semblance of organisation has disappeared, no one has a clue what they're doing or where they're supposed to be, so the only option remaining is to hoof it. Kicking is absolute...

Re: Mike Ford and Fiji Coaching Position

We can’t have Daryl Gibson. People on here and other forums/social media say we shouldn’t appoint former Tigers players as coaches. They’re the problem apparently. I think that is an unfair statement, I believe what has been said is do not appoint someone just because they are ex-Tigers if they are...

Re: CRISIS: WHAT CRISIS?

Boards are nothing new indeed. The main function of a board in a small company like Tigers should be to appoint and oversee the one person running the club. There's a huge difference between a board and a board that has sub-committees to interfere in employees' jobs. There's a Head of Rugby Operatio...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2

Great news that Ford is close to signing, although the cynic in me says it could just be his agent trying to get a higher salary elsewhere. Re Youngs, it would be a real shame if he went, from a sentimental point of view, but he does look like he maybe needs a fresh start somewhere new to reinvigora...
