Re: Provisional Premiership Return Date ?

I do not see professional sport being somewhere near the front of the queue for NHS testing anytime soon. Front of the queue is the wrong terminology clearly but it wouldn't need a huge amount of testing for rugby to get restarted. Some rough numbers - 1000 tests would cover the squads, coaches and...

Re: Players asked to take pay cuts!

I don't think the salary cap reduction is permanent, in my view a reduced salary cap next season is feasible to help clubs make ends meet, but why bother having this argument when the West Country Cartel have already vetoed it? Because I think people blindly attacking the players for essentially qu...

Re: Players asked to take pay cuts!

Worthless prima donnas - they will still have an income, I know people with much lower salaries who now have nothing they have been sacked. I used to be proud of tigers -member, season ticket holder avid fan but now the only thing I feel is ashamed - poor performances, friction against management a...

Re: Players asked to take pay cuts!

Yes, it does. They clearly haven't gone to the players and asked them to take a permanent cut to their salaries, just asked them to help out while the club isn't getting any cash. Then at the same time, the club is asking for a significant cut in the salary cap for next season. So are they then goin...

Re: Players asked to take pay cuts!

It does look like the club are trying to screw over the players here.

The club conveniently supports reducing the salary cap by 25% as well so they can make these cuts to the player's wages permanently by default.

Re: Jonah Holmes

Looks like we are losing Jonah as well as Jonny UGH! I hope the development lads and the others can fill the boots of two experienced wingers. I thought Holmes was still in contract though according to others on this messageboard. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/52381515 :smt010 :smt005 htt...

Would anyone here really choose Burns over Ford? That's one piece of business that I don't criticise the club for.

If the Lions is on Sky few will know and even fewer will care. It will be and that's not the case,The Lions as well as the RWC draws the causal fans out A handful of casual viewers may watch it but as far as I can see Sky stopped publishing viewing figures for rugby because they were losing viewers...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 3

So Costelow,Thompson,Kalamafoni and now May! One of the brightest potential talents out there and 3 of our best players. Loving the boards work! The Costelow situation is pretty clear. He's played age grade rugby for Wales, he was always going to be heading back there. He would have been mad to sig...

Re: Who’s your pick for Lions 2021

Done very little wrong? He was 2 botched Beale kicks away from losing the series to a poor Oz team and drew one v a NZ team thanks to Barretts awful kicking,SBW red card and a terrible refereeing decision with Owen's blatant offside. The Lions praise for me is way OTT! You can say that about any si...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 3

I still think we have a huge void at 12, Eastmond and Reid are decent benchers but not the physical playmaker we need to compete at the top level to either go themselves or cleverly distribute or to shore up the defence in that channel. The pack are looking very good! Totally agree. Historically we...

Re: Players asked to take pay cuts!

My issue is the flat 25%, yes it is in theory fair, but 25% of not a lot isn't great. Not all of Tigers Employees earn marque salaries. There is no simple answer to this, but I do think the RPA aren't being terribly bright about this. One thing this does show is the vulnerability of being effective...

They'll be competition rules that they signed up to thay govern matches that can't be played. Zero chance of any legal action being successful.

Re: Will games get cancelled?

There's a lot of panicking at the moment. No one has died under 50 and no one has died without underlying health issues, mainly kidney and heart. Its going to be bad but the number of undiagnosed cases is astronomical. Remember the UK is only testing suspected cases when they are significantly ill. ...

Re: Will games get cancelled?

There are set competition rules for any games that are not played - someone can dig them out if they really want to. It will be unsatisfactory for everyone involved if no other game gets played this season but talk of Sarries escaping relegation is completely made up.
