Re: Transfer Rumours Thread 2013/2014 Season
When there is up to 240k extra to the salary cap available for clubs that develop their own players it strikes me as foolish not to utilise that. Whilst a side like Quins or Sarries are able to claim the full 240k because of their policy of bringing home-grown Academy graduates into their first tea...

Re: Brett Deacon retires from playing ...
On the homepage too http://www.leicestertigers.com/news/18497.php#.UrFRLijxrIU. Good luck to Brett, definitely a huge shame to see him retire early. He epitomises the club's ethos and some of his performances last year, Treviso away comes to mind, were superb, hopefully he will pass on the culture t...

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread 2013/2014 Season
Surely one of the most important players on the field is the number 10, shouldn't we be concentrating on finding the right person to replace Flood if indeed he is going, rather than looking for other positions such as wingers who haven't fulfilled their promise or who appear to be injury prone. For...

Tigers Vs. Sarries
A big game this weekend as Tigers to return to Premiership action, the side currently sit 5th but with Quins playing away at the Rec a win for Tigers would almost certainly propel them into the top 4. 3 wins over this Christmas period would cement the side in the top 4 and, hopefully, close the gap ...

Re: Tigers v Montpellier - threads merged
When are we going to see Matera or is he injured too? Not registered for Europe, hopefully we will see him Vs. Saracens. Gibson is playing impressively well but he does not have the potential to be world class, Matera does. No doubt Pablo is also having the typical bedding in period for new signing...

Re: MOntpellier v Tigers
Lots of work on defensive organisation and bringing down Montpellier's big forwards first time, while stopping the off-load, is required this week but I'm feeling surprisingly confident Tigers will get the win. A lot does depend on the Montpellier side, I'm not convinced all of their big guns will b...

Re: Tigers v Montpellier - threads merged
An amazing game in which we did lots of things right but were let down by our own lack of intelligent play. Pluses:- Kitchener - Brilliant (in contrast to Deacon who seemed non-existent) Gibson - Coming on in leaps and bounds (Playing at about 60% of Croft but getting better all the time - Needs to...

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread 2013/2014 Season
Twitter and The Guardian rumour that Leigh Halfpenny and Sam Warburton will sign for Toulon and Saints respectively. If true another great signing by Saints but how can they do so within the cap given their recent big name signings? http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2013/dec/07/rfu-chief-executive-e...

Re: Team vs Montpellier
Think Lamb over Williams is understandable, Williams will be a better player but, in a must-win HC game, if Floody gets injured after 2 minutes then Lamb is the better 10. Certainly should be a strong pack with excellent impact from the bench. Pretty certain that Morris is injured, but Scotty has be...

Re: Montpellier
Not sure if it's irrational but I'm feeling fairly confident for this weekend. Friday's performance has given me hope that things are starting to click. The scrum was excellent and the whole pack were too, especially considering the absentees, I thought Kitchener was superb (it was his best performa...

Re: Tigers v Glaws
I'd go for: Ayerza, Youngs, Cole Deacon, Kitchener Matera, Waldrom, Salvi Youngs, Flood Bowden, Goneva/ Pohe Thompstone, Morris, Scully Briggs, Boris, Balmain, De Chaves, Gibson, Mele, Williams, Benjamin Hopefully the rumours of injury to Salvi are just that, I'd like to see Matera at 6, he's one of...

Tigers Vs. Irish
While Montpellier might be looming on the horizon the next two Premiership are crucial if Tigers don’t want to be left behind in the competition for the top 2, although if there’s a time to go 3 games without a win in the Prem it’s in the first third of the season! In terms of selection I’d like to ...
