Re: 2015/16 Squad/Contracts/Rumours Thread Part 2
My cousin who used to play with Sam Harrison and others in the academy, had a certain second row captain round his house for Christmas drinks last week. He mentioned that we are close to signing JP Pietersen for next season... Anyone else heard this? Have not heard it but would certainly make sense...

Re: Team for Boxing Day
Really like the look of that side, great to see Logo and Tait back! Excited to see Pearce and Fonua and what a bench!!
Maybe I'm over confident but would be disappointed if Tigers didn't get the full 5 points!!

Re: Teams up v Munster
Brilliant win, bits to work on in the performance but I agree with Cockers that Munster were much better than last week! Huge performances from McCaffrey, Slater and Smith, Slater will play himself into the England side playing like that and, dare I say it, if Smith were at Sarries he would be in th...

Re: Team for Boxing Day
I'd like to see as much rotation as possible vs. Falcons before targetting wins vs. Sarries and Saints- there can then be some rotation for Treviso which should keep the squad relatively fresh! Hard to pick a side with uncertainty over injuries etc. but I'd go for: Aguero, Thacker, Balmain De Chaves...

Re: What changes if any?
Slater cannot be played at 6 again. He has to play as a lock. Think that is a little harsh on Slater, admittedly he was outpaced once in the wide channel and gave away a particularly silly penalty from the restart, but I thought he had a decent game at 6. In terms of changes- if Williams is injured...

Re: 2015/16 Squad/Contracts/Rumours Thread Part 2
Gavin Mortimer on Twitter, his source being Midi. Wouldn't be surprised mind. He's been good whilst we've had him. It does lead to be worried about our Hooker position though... Obviously we've got OTY, but I don't rate Bateman, and as Cockers is picking Bateman over Thacker I'm not sure Thacker is...

Re: Kitchener In the lineout- Fantastic (Despite the gale)
Launchbury and Kitchener for me, with Slater or Lawes on the bench. Itoje, for now, should be considered at 6 for me- having seen the chaos Mike Williams can cause from 6 I think he and Itoje could be the future there for England! Harsh on Crofty who is a superb player but I think just a big, abrasi...

Re: Kitchener In the lineout- Fantastic (Despite the gale)
Only England have underrated and underused Kitch. He was top in line out steals last season and top takes on his own ball. Agreed, I would like to see Kitch in the 5 shirt for England come the 6 nations. His lineout work on Saturday was superb, 2 steals and some excellent one handed takes come to m...

Re: Barf at the wreck
The only change I would make is Crane to start ahead of Barbieri at 8, due to Jordan’s superior control at the base of the scrum, which could be particularly important as it is possible the scrum will struggle to gain parity against a strong set of Bath props. If Croft is fit I’d like to see him on ...

Re: Steve Mafi?
I don't know for certain and certainly don't have any inside information or anything like that but from what I have seen I think it is simply a case of Gibson being Cockers' preferred choice at 6. Gibson has been playing extremely well (I would be surprised if he was not part of the England squad fo...

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread 2013/2014 Season
I’m certainly impressed by the signings, as much as I rate Hawkins Ghiraldini is undoubtedly a step up who will help ease the workload on OTY and give Tigers a genuinely quality player to bring on after 60 minutes, if Cockers chooses to do so. Rizzo is also a step up on Boris, IMO, I presume this mo...

Re: Tigers v London Irish
I'd go for: Ayerza, Hawkins, Logo Slater, Kitchener (Deacon if Kitch is injured) Mafi, Gibson, Salvi Mele, Williams Allen, Goneva Thompstone, Tait, Scully Briggs/ Thacker, Stankovich, Balmain, Deacon/ Crane, Matera, Youngs, Flood, Smith Consistency in selection is one thing, but after last week chan...
