A joke that tickles me

Two men of some considerable years are chatting at the home of one of them. One says “My wife and I went to an amazing restaurant last night. The meal was delicious, and not too expensive either”. “What is the name of it”, enquired his friend. Looking puzzled, he answered by saying – “Help me now. A...

Re: Money where your mouth is time

Earlier on this year a number of us boldly put our predictions on the forum as to which team would finish where. I have analysed these predictions by comparing each prediction with where the team actually finished. I gave 5 points for an exact match, and 1 point foe being within 1 place of actual. C...

Re: An end to endless tropes about players who left?

Personally, I think that it is wonderful that players seek new opportunities, new horizons, change of scene, etc etc. In business, people move on, it's natural - I can't understand why it should be seen as any different in sport. Those that are left get on with it. Same with Tigers, move on.

That's why I like it. Seems fair to me, as you have finished first or second, and there is a real incentive to do so. :smt026

Better Play Off System?

Just a thought. Am watching the Indian T20 tournament - the IPL. The top 4 teams are in the play off. Let's call them 1, 2, 3, and 4. Team 1 has home advantage and plays team 2. The winner goes directly to the Final. Meanwhile, 3 and 4 play each other and the winner plays the loser of the first game...

Re: Waynetta - too familiar??

Speaking of Nigel Owens I listened to a wonderful edition of "Desert Island Discs" recently with dear Nigel in the chair. Very illuminating, and well worth a listen.

Hopefully this link will work, if you have 30 minutes' spare.

Re: Waynetta - too familiar??

Hadn't see this post, so late in replying. Glad the question has been raised. I don't like the Referee using Christian Names, mainly because, for me, it just doesn't sit right - the Ref should "keep a distance". What is happening though is Refs referring to some players by their Christian Names, and...

Re: Purely hypothetically

Interesting question. However, given the number of people who have said that the play off system is an incarnation of the devil, then I assume that they will be calling for us to: a) Remove it from any list of achievements; b) Return the Trophy; c) Call for an end to the ridiculous idea that a team ...

Get sacked. Get temporary job until end of season. Man who hires you gets sacked - you replace him.

That is the world we live in now. :smt022

I thought this post was 100% tongue in cheek, with a 75% probability of a deliberate spelling mistake. However, not to be taken seriously.

Re: Matt O'Connor In...Mauger Out

I am shocked. Reminds me of the leaving party when one of the bosses says – (inebriated) :smt030 :smt030 good luck son, you’ll always be welcome back you know (liar). And then a phone call, “You remember what you said at my leaving do…”? :smt006 Have never been a fan of going back to old pastures my...

Re: Are Tigers days as one of rugby's giants coming to and e

Its just time to be honest Let's just at least be honest about it! I agree with most of this, but have a problem with the idea that any Board member could actually come out and say that the emphasis of the Club has been targeted at ground redevelopment, and dos (misspelling) the consequences for th...

Re: Manu out for season

It is correct - this is a new injury. It simply confirms that he is injury prone. As such, he has had little to offer on the credit side of the equation for a number of years. I think this surely has to be his last rehab for us, and then let's hope his luck changes.
