Re: SARRIES FUTURE

You're right, a declaration and a certificate is required. Your error is that you assume these are a declaration and certificate that the club was and is under the cap - they aren't. The certificate form even has an option to state that you were over the cap - so you can submit the certificate as r...

Re: SARRIES FUTURE

It certainly seems that way. For the purposes of clarity, "15.2 A Promoted Club shall provide copies of its Declaration for the 2018-19 Salary Cap Year and its Certification for the 2017-18 Salary Cap Year as required under Regulations 4.2 and 4.3. " and "4.2 Declaration for 2018-19 Salary Cap Year...

Re: SARRIES FUTURE

Totally agree. Unless the current rules are changed or waived (and why should they be) if they win the Championship next year they fall at the first hurdle. That means they are looking at a minimum of 2 years in the Championship and who knows, at the end of that period the Premiership may well have...

Re: Spencer off to Bath

No great loss, only really shows up when we win & that's before we get to his availability. If we sign Alemanno it will be a considerable upgrade. Have I missed something it's the first time I have seen Matias Alemanno linked with us? http://www.americasrugbynews.com/2019/12/08/leicester-tigers-int...

Re: SARRIES FUTURE

Instead of their players, we would be far better off poaching their entire coaching team. And Wray, to boot....Now that he has learnt his lesson. A friend in SA reckons Sale could be paying extra in Rand for their African stars. Allegedly and without prejudice, of course !! I told him he was tellin...

Re: It just gets worse for Saracens

It was also a different error to previous occasions where points were docked. The other cases involved players that weren't in the European squads, effectively trying to use 31 rather than 30 players (I don't know the actual numbers involved). The Sarries player was registered, it was a further adm...

Re: France v England

Anybody else struggling for enthusiasm this time around? With the world cup final capitulation, Tigers not currently doing very well and a chunk of the England team outed as ruinous cheats I have to say my appetite isnt really there this year. Blimey - I think you need a pick me up! Personally, as ...

Re: Saracens are relegated!

Negativity or reality? In my universe there are no playoffs in the Championship and Ealing are 11 points off the promotion place. They have said numerous times that their aim is to win promotion and far they have, quite literally , failed to do so. That's a failure. This isn't negativity, it is sim...

Re: Saracens Cap Investigation / Grounds for Appeal

There's a difference between not paid and doesn't count towards the salary cap. Williams will probably count as a marquee player so not playing him might make little difference. Goode being given the season off will make a significant saving though the injury to Mallins will make that awkward. Most...

Re: Saracens Cap Investigation / Grounds for Appeal

Sorry if I'm being dim, but why don't players salaries count if they haven't played yet? Surely, unless they are excluded by dint of injury dispensation, they're still being paid, hence part of the salary bill? From the PRL regulations, Part c of the definition of a player, "(c) who either plays ru...

Re: Saracens Cap Investigation / Grounds for Appeal

" A player who is Injured for the entire season " Which certainly doesn't mean that the player got no income thus far this season. I trust the players' insurers will be looking in depth into the validity of their injury payments. There's a difference between not paid and doesn't count towards the s...

Re: Do they read this forum

Only £120k a year? And I thought poverty in the UK was a thing of the past! As pointed out, most will be on less than this. Some considerably less. And they have to pay tax too? I'm glad I don't have to pay tax... oh wait, I do. Except I probably pay a lot more tax because i don't get paid for imag...

Re: Do they read this forum

Read that average premiership player, is on around £120k a year, but after tax, and saving for the future probably more like half that, which ok is comfortable for a short period of time. I would imagine that a Division 2 footballer is earning more than that That's about average. The median would b...

Re: Do they read this forum

If i have a bad day at the workplace, I get a rollicking. I do.it again I get a sit down, again a verbal warning and so on.... My colleagues will tell me I have fluffed up, so will my customers. I take it on the chin. I don't get paid mega bucks, have the backing of a physio when my back.is sore or...
