Once again agree 100% with my close namesake, John Griffiths. I'm in the play lots of sports, get really fit, choose later - in rugby that's why some like Thorn have longer careers.
Rugby is more a way of really fouling up you body rather than a way of getting fit.

Re: Elitism in Rugby

Whilst we are discussing rugby here there is a general issue as noted in the OP. We don't want an elitist society. It's unhealthy. elite noun 1. a select group that is superior in terms of ability or qualities to the rest of a group or society You might be happy with your surgery carried out by som...

Re: Howard to mentor Murphy

... it was the cheapest option.!! You really are giving the Bod too much credit. There was no real thought went into this appointment of GM and to compound their error, they confirmed him as Head Coach when it seemed he couldn't buy a win. Loyalty is all very well but choosing the believe the Board...

Re: Howard to mentor Murphy

Agreed it was incredibly short-sighted to appoint a totally inexperienced head coach. I think some posters need to look up the definition of shortsighted in relation to business decisions. If anything the appointment of GM was clearly a long term potential opportunity and the provision of a mentor ...

Re: Howard to mentor Murphy

Question. Why appoint a head coach who needs mentoring? Totally barmy imo. :smt017 :smt017 Incredibly short-sighted. Re: Leicester Tigers up for sale for £60 Million

No 90% is voluntary, 50 % can be enough. The minimum acceptance condition for a contractual offer is a simple majority of the voting rights of the target company (in that the Code does not permit an acceptance condition of 50% or less) (Rule 10, Code). This is also the maximum acceptance condition ...

Re: Elitism in Rugby

"A plethora of finds in the SW aren't going to suddenly be found as the opportunities aren't available to them as they are to certain other backgrounds, that's the whole point of what Genge is saying." That's in right there in a nutshell, bravo Sir! As I said, obviously not clearly enough for everyb...

Re: Elitism in Rugby

No science needed, the evidence is in English sporting history. Do England actually possess the ability to create world class athletes in particular in rugby union, given that since 03 it has been slowly going downhill I'd strongly question that ability! What's really interesting is that the 03 rug...

Re: Leicester Tigers up for sale for £60 Million

I believe that the small shareholders don't have a say in if they want to sell their shares or not if someone wants to buy the whole thing. Looking into this it depends upon whether an agreement is in place in form of a shareholders agreement, which usually either specifies a price for the forced b...

Re: Elitism in Rugby

So LE18, are you saying that Genge is wrong? In my experience he is correct, but you do raise an important secondary point by your comment, and that is that private schooled children are over developed compared to the majority, and then plateau quickly in development to seniors, they have less stre...

Re: Geordie up before the beak...three week ban!

Maxwell-Keys did somewhat institgate the incident by probably not answering Murphy’s (probably initially polite) interrogation and walking away, just proves the incompetence. Read the report again. Murphy came on strong, possibly in the heat of the recent moment. CMK appeared to realise this by say...

Re: Geordie up before the beak...three week ban!

1. So, GM was wrong. It was a 'mistake'. He did err. (As per your response). All we really have in evidence is the content of the RFU disciplinary report and I can't see anywhere where it states that GM was wrong. The closest it gets is that his comments were 'strong.' Ill advised and unacceptable ...

Re: We love Manu - discuss

Great to see loyalty has been repaid, but I bet it breaks the bank Some people just can't help themselves. I am sure the club have offered a deal that works for both the player and the club and have got a plan as to how much they are offering other incoming players and other players re-signing. To ...
