Re: Are all fans whingers or just Stains?

Well said Purebob and SJ-Saint I agree with your sentiments, I too will look forward to going again to FG, a proper rugby ground with proper supporters just like WRd. However I may struggle to actualy support the Saints on Saturday, you remain our biggest rivals in the current era, can I say I've go...

Re: Are all fans whingers or just Stains?

I agree with you all in the sense that to a certain extent all fans are whingers and that's part of the fun! However I agree with jgriffin about the excessive whinging (almost hysteria) by Saints fans over Manu. Yes he should have been sent off, yes the ref assistant got it badly wrong, but none of ...

Re: Cockers & Oconnor behaviour

Too many people on this thread are missing the point. By all means in the future find a better location for the coaches to rant and rave if that's what the Club really believe is the solution - personally I'm not so sure. Ackford has taken a lot of stick on this thread but he's only one of many jour...

Re: Why?

A typical semi final with neither team prepared to take too many risks - quite rightly.

Neutrals may have preferred 41-41 v Glaws but I know which game I preferred!!

Re: Will it be 12T or Hippo then?

If Danny is fully fit and raring to go then I'd pick him at 13. It's his normal position, whereas Billy has played 10 or 12 all season. Billy would be a great asset on the bench - where incidentally there may be quite a lot of space if Brian Campsall makes a formal complaint to the RFU about our coa...

Re: Cockers & Oconnor behaviour

I've just read the match reports in the Observer and Independent, whilst they are not as vociferous as the ST, both report the alleged bad behaviour of the coaches. It's a great shame and I hope it's dealt with properly. Cockers has many great qualities, not least his loyalty to the players and Club...

Re: Any chance of gracious saints fan

Well said englandfatboy. Saints played well but were well beaten on the day by a very disciplined Tigers performance. Obviously Manu should have gone, but that's rugby and a moment of red mist is eminently forgiveable. After all I'm sure the Saints fans have forgiven Hartley for his eye gauging (6 m...

Re: Cockers & Oconnor behaviour

Bill - if you actually read what Mike and I said you will see it was qualified with; "If what Ackford says is correct" or words to that affect. If Ackford was exaggerating as some journalists have been known to do, then my comments are inconsequential. However somehow I doubt it and one thing's for ...

Re: Cockers & Oconnor behaviour

I have to agree completely with Mike. Tigers played superbly today and well deserved to win. I can forgive Manu, he is young and was playing in an incredibly tense game and simply got the red mist. Not an excuse but a fact. Yes he should have been red carded but I've seen a lot worse on a rugby pitc...

Re: TTTE - The good and the bad

Has anybody heard what Fourie is doing now Leeds are almost certainly relegated? He would be fantastic in a back tow with Croft/Newby at 6 and Crane/TTTE at 8.

Re: Good luck to Northampton(one off)

It's got to be Perpignan, I really couldn't cope with the Saints supporters gloating if they win the semi, let alone the final!!!

Re: tigers v newcastle teams

Agree regarding Hawkins, very unlucky not to be starting. At least 36 is on the bench this week!
Interesting that Newcastle have left the two Tigers bound players (Young and Brookes) on the bench - almost a Cockerellesque selection or is it genuinely on form?

Re: Should we throw the LI match?

Ok looks like I'm out voted on this one. Perhaps it's because I work in the centre of Northampton that I have this obsession with Saints and the thought of losing to them in the semi (or inded the final) just fills me with dread!! If by any means they fail to make the top 4, my wokday experience wou...
