Re: George Ford

George Ford was quoted in the Times this morning along with Geordan who said the club was at its "lowest ebb in the time I have been here". He (Ford) said, that the players care, that it's not an "effort thing" and that it hurts to lose especially at home. More significantly he ...

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2018-19

Watson signed a new two year contract with Bath recently, Joseph Ito Bristol is a strong rumour amongst the Bath fans, how are Bristol going to afford all these signings and stay within the cap, creative accounting? I suspect they would have overpaid quite a few guys in order to entice them to go t...

Re: Cocker v Deano

Falcons had a loosehead starting at tighthead and a 7-man bench. This is clearly not a safe situation. It's strange that the rules relating to registration for the tournament are paramount, even over player safety. Falcons even have a tighthead who could have played, so it's not as if they would hav...

Re: Forward passes and putting the ball in

Forward off load to try scorer for Racing's last try seems to have gone unnoticed by everyone from officials to pundits....why spoil an exciting move with the laws !! Two forward passes from Racing that were ignored in the build up to Ford's intercept ended up with Thompstone's try. It was nice to ...

Re: Harry gets three

Let's not count the challenge cup tries. Odogwu is playing for Sale in National 1 most of this season. Hudson had to retire through injury Hudson may have retired, but it hasn't stopped him playing regularly for Gloucester over the last couple of seasons. And there is no blame attached to Tigers fo...

Either over the hill, ring rusty or just a bad day at the office, You decide. But in his defence he is the best talker to players still out there, he does state what he wants from players However for me, he is and always has been, Mr Marmite. :smt018 I think he may have been feeling a bit leggy aft...

Re: Harry gets three

Just watched the Wasps Bristol game which was really entertaining. Most of the pub were cheering for Bristol (we didn't know the result). Lots of interest and comments when Thacker came off the bench in the second half. and to our delight, scored three good tries. Then he gets 2 more !!!! :smt010 A...

Re: Harry gets three

TBF two of those tries just involved flopping over. Agreed but if Thacker had scored four tries then Bristol could have won! :smt002 Is this his lack of stamina, lack of height or lack of gametime? I hope he does not start against us! With Gibson, Balmain and Lewington having scored against us in t...

Re: Sour grapes from Burgess?

My problem with Shields is the sneaky suspicion that if Billy V hadn't been injured then one of the stand-outs of the AIs - Mark Wilson - would never have got a shot, as Shields would have been starting ahead of him purely on the basis of his time in the SH, rather than on the basis of his performan...

Re: Tigers U20's

On another note, Ollie Lawrence at Worcs looks a great talent; is another with the profile which would be ideal for us. He's such a talent! I saw the highlights of Worcester's European match against Stade Francais on YouTube and it was basically the Ollie Lawrence show. He tore them up. And he's on...

Re: Sour grapes from Burgess?

When Lancaster recruited Sam, he sold him a dream as an Centre offloading centre breaking the gain line like SBW. Bath wanted the RFU to part fund the deal to bring him in, but the RFU fearing a revolt from other clubs after the other league converts getting funding to come over, refused. Bath then...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 3

I wouldn't be concerned about losing a unproven young player making such large demands. I think that's something that Leicester need to start walking away from if they want to be successful, often hamstrung by player demands. That's right - it's about time Leicester stopped bringing through all the...

Re: Autumn Internationals

Nowell at outside centre? Why not pick an actual outside centre instead? That's a very odd selection. Other than that, an exciting side. There's a feeling at both Exeter and England that Nowell lacks the flat out pace of a winger and should be moving inside. Exeter have experimented with him there....

Re: Autumn Internationals

This sequence of stills shows how close the call was. https://i.imgur.com/76INvei.jpg The grid might be misleading, but I don't think Lawes was in an offside position until the final frame, at which point the ball is already off the ground in the SH's hands. It might be said that his front foot was...
