Re: BT Sport Coverage of Quins vs Sale .... Why Oh Why ?
I will say with respect (despite that not being given to me) that most of you have completely missed the point. You have assumed that if I suggest a political and cultural topic should not be significantly featured in the first minutes of rugby coverage for five months then (1) I am bigoted ( obstin...

BT Sport Coverage of Quins vs Sale .... Why Oh Why ?
Game covered elsewhere, but I was truly flabbergasted and annoyed to see BT Sport choosing not just mention but heavily feature the BLM initiative and to a lesser extent the CoVid / NHS content in the prematch buildup. We wait months for our rugby to return then they chose to force us to listen to t...

Re: Sir Eddie of Jones re-signs until 2023
Right choice for another RWC cycle for me. EJ has certainly upped Englands game. Whilst some inconsistency still exists, at times they are really (REALLY) good. Plus a number of them, being quite young, will get even better e.g. Itoje, Curry, Underhill, Sinckler, Genge. EJ is stubborn, which plays b...

Re: Who’s your pick for Lions 2021
Good list JP ... front five difficult to imagine too much different, unless father time finally catches AWJ then Ryan can step in. I am not as impressed as some with CJ Stander. Would be nice to see if Hamish Watson can be given a chance somewhere ??Gatland won't leave Farrell out and also likes Jon...

Re: Henley Business School Case Study - The Demise of Sporting Institution
I watched the match yesterday and realised my assumptions and expectations have changed. I am no longer indignant or angry. I am now just resigned / accepting. What I saw yesterday was what I expected to see and what I know I will continue to see for the rest of the season until we are relegated. S...

Re: The World Cup Final
Lots of errors for ENG early on blew the confidence to allow them to play wide and fast to outwit the big boks ... plus obviously without a competing scrum your odds of winning are very poor ... at times if they knocked on I thought forget that let's carry on ... we really don't want another scrum. ...

Re: World Rugby awards 2019
Is there a criteria definition for these awards somewhere ? Without clear specification these titles are ridiculously subjective or at worst patronising ? 2019 is all about winning the RWC so ENG & RSA should be dominating the lists ? Japan could deserve some sort of award but an emerging / pluc...

Re: Duty of care
Bigger picture for me is that rugby is inherently a gladiatorial, confrontational, deeply honourable sport that now professional is also inherently dangerous. Players and supporters love it for what it is. The bigger picture battle in that context for our current times is to balance (1) the player w...

Re: I hope Mike Ford goes out to The World Cup Final
That is why I can’t understand those on here who have a go at Tom Youngs. Top bloke and always gives his all in a Tigers’ shirt. Well done Tom and I’ll be cheering extra loud for you on Saturday. +1 :smt023 It's disappointing, Ian, but you'll never stop it. There are those who can't post on here wi...

Re: Is Lavanini going to be a liability?
Lavanini has the core attributes to make a difference. You can’t train or coach some of those absolute DNA traits. Therefore despite his enforcer status I suspect he needs a really strong (brave ) captain to stare at him / yell at him / hold him back a bit like like Itoje does with Sinks for ENG.

Re: The World Cup Final
Reading the tea leaves ..... Jones needs to stick with Ford, Faz, Manu ... ENG will move the RSA pack around mercilessly at breakneck speed and get the kick balance right (I hope) ... May strongly rumoured to likely be fit, also Sinks and Faz ... key point for me is how RSA want to play ... I though...

Re: ITV coverage of WC
Eddie Butler is horrendous, in my view. Harrison I don't mind (without Barnes). I think they've done a decent job tbh. As maligned as he is as a board member of Tigers, I think Kay is excellent as a summariser and also like Flatman in that role too along with Monye. Not so keen on Dayglo though. Sh...

Re: Wales v SA
RSA 12 De Allende very dangerous but I would stick with Ford, Faz, Manu for the final. ENG wrap around passes from forwards should hopefully keep the RSA beef on the move away from contact to wear them down. Think ENG are fitter and last 15 mins could be the difference if ENG play the same game plan...

Re: ENG vs NZ - RWC Semi
Credit to Jones and the coaching team. That was the best ENG performance for a very very long time. Perfectly timed. The team followed the script with skill and a no fear attitude. NZ at times really didn't know quite what to do. ENG won the front foot collisions / momentum and the breakdown. Lineou...
