Re: Tigers v Pau Saturday Nov 16th

Strong team. Interesting to see how the Ford Reid axis works and how Viljoen goes at full back. And as Raging Bull intimates that's a heavyweight 2nd row pairing.

As an aside, how unlucky is Telusa? A broken nose now :smt010

Hopefully we have some scouts keeping an eye on it.
Especially as one of the teams is called South China Tigers.

Re: Borthwick

I wonder if the problem for any incoming coach is whether we spend too high a proportion (of the salary cap) on a handful of players leaving diddly squat for the rest of the squad? Perhaps. Maybe we could come up with a scheme where we help them by setting up and investing in some joint companies w...

Lest we forget it was Meyer who brought Scott Hamilton the club and for me that's one big plus.

Re: CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Isn't it great to have a whipping boy? Or even more than one. So now it's Ben Kay in addition to Simon Cohen. I really think it's too easy to make one to one correlations such as BK joins the board performance goes down. I believe there are more factors than just that.

I have nightmares about the Meyer era still. Not as bad as the reappearance of the rotund MOC, but close.
The Loffreda era was similarly nightmarish.

Re: Tigers v Pau Saturday Nov 16th

Not the case for the challenge cup though ^ [/quote Whilst I want us to win I wouldn't want it to be against a severely understrength opposition as it would potentially give us a false sense of optimism. I hope they give us a stern test and that we pass it well. The Gloucester performance gave me h...

We're only 4 points off 9th & 7 points off 4th in the league. I admit we need wins but I don't think it's quite time to panic yet....
How dare you come on here and post something so measured and reasonable. Please leave the forum immediately! :smt003

This is typified by the board going for the Cheap & Cheerful Fonua over a more willing, fitter Number 8 that would have made a difference.
I believe that Fonua was anything but cheap and cheerful. It was my understanding that he was one of the better paid squad members.

I fear the props could become a weakness for England in the future.
They already are if Mako and Sinckler start. Neither can scrummage against decent opposition.

Indeed, win and we've got momentum, lose and we're firmly rooted to the bottom. The Exiles team isn't anything special but I'm just a tad scared about what Naholo is going to do to our under-performing wingers.
Olowofela is not underperforming...
And neither is Holmes.

Re: London Irish vs Tigers

Well it looks like Mari and the rest of the cavalry are going to play against Tigers! A huge performance will be needed to get anything out of this game. Good luck Tigers. Seems an awful lot of new blood to integrate back into the team at one go which may prove counterproductive. We have seen befor...
