Re: Retractable roof and fake pitches

A couple of thoughts on this; the team we seem to dislike the most (Sarries) have a plastic pitch and we, and others, don't seem to play well on it. Sarries are successful and are current Premiership and European Champions, so why would the authorities suggest any advantage in the playing surface. I...

Re: Tigers v Saints AWC Saturday 28th Jan.

Iain - I didn't get to the City Ground for the semi, so was basing my statement on our Welford Road games. Thanks for pointing this out.

Like the man in orthopaedic shoes - I stand corrected.

Re: the Bhangra drummers - if I recall correctly, we haven't lost when they attended and played before and during the game.

As for the flag runners........ really!!! We can live without them.

Re: Tigers v Saints AWC Saturday 28th Jan.

I spoke to Tom Croft at the 96 Coffee Bar after the match last Saturday and he assured me he would be playing this coming week against Saints.

Re: Hostile "Tigers Fan" in the Holland & Barratt stand

Kornboy - if you read my original post, it wasn't just the fact that he assumed my son didn't go to private school because he had actually corrected him on something he'd said and therefore didn't show him respect (!) but what really made my blood boil was the continued rant at my 14 year old and te...

Re: Hostile "Tigers Fan" in the Holland & Barratt stand

Strawclearer - thank you and others for your support in this. My son and I will be returning for the Saints match in the re-allocated seats that the club have offered and will be cheering on our team as we always do. As someone else has said, we need to get behind the team now more than any other ti...

Re: Hostile "Tigers Fan" in the Holland & Barratt stand

Strawclearer - the person in question was having a right go at my son and made assumptions about how and where he is schooled. He was the one having a dig at me and my son. To say to any 14 year old, irrespectve of what school he attends, that he is going to be a failure just because he had the conf...

Hostile "Tigers Fan" in the Holland & Barratt stand

Irrespective of the result, on Saturday my son and I were subjected to a tirade of verbal abuse during the match. We have been sat in the lower tier of the main H&B stand for a number of seasons now, on a row immediately in front of other regular, I'm assuming Season Ticket holders. The dad in this ...

Re: "This season's performance could have a seismic effect .

I watched the match on Saturday and recall Austin also having a dig at the players - he said something along the lines of "......you can coach and train all you like but it's the players on the pitch making the decisions during the game." I thought at the time he was spot on and still do. These play...

Does Jumbo's latest teamsheet post lay to rest the long held rumour that Jumbo was really Cockers? Given that this post arrived ahead of the team being announced officially on the website is it maybe Cockers doing so final mischief making?

Re: Answers

I don't think "physical" rugby is what we need, especially if physical means giving away more penalties and yellow and red cards. One could suggest Saints play "physical" rugby but look what Dullan did again last night. I don't really want to see us go down that road. It's not that long ago that Sar...

Re: Next week just get behind the team

Well, I had a rather embarrassing afternoon. I travelled to Belfast to meet with some past colleagues and watched Ulster put in a good shift against Clermont. Then went to watch the Munster v Tigers match in a bar. At least Ulster won....

Thanks Whitecap. I missed that interview as I was making my way back to the car park. Fingers crossed then.

Matt Toomua - anyone heard any news yet?

The lad seemed to flinch in pain as he turned to avoid a tackle coming in and from my seat in the Caterpillar/MetRX stand I could clearly see he was in pain before the tackle arrived. He managed to walk off the pitch though, so hopefully a strain rather than serious ligament damage. If anyone has an...
