Re: Heineken cup draw

So, having read all of the above and the Wikipedia link, I’m still a bit fuzzy. When does the actual draw take place? Is there any chance of us getting Ulster in our group? I always enjoy a trip to the Province.

Re: Tiff Youngs Interview

I listened to this last night, choking back tears on a number of occasions. This is an amazing story or courage, resilience and strength. We can look at our lives and get annoyed by the smallest things but Tiff's story is inspirational. And through it all Tom was right there - she never ate hospital...

Re: Tour to SA

As others have said, Manu needs the pre-season to hopefully regain some of the form that he displayed so well a few seasons back. I hope that we haven't seen the best of him but we haven't seen the explosive power and runs that he had in the early seasons, especially when Alex T was on the wing. We ...

Re: Shazam

Like others, I've always thought Sam was a great 9 and when he's come off the bench, the different game he brought often wrong-footed the opposition. He's quick to get to the breakdown and the quick ball away adds a dimension that YBY balances with the box-kicking and the sniping runs. They compleme...

Re: Height of tackle

This goes against the coaching messages I and others gave. The phrases “eye to thigh” to focus where to tackle, “cheek to cheek” and “what smells to what smells” to make sure the tackler’s head was in the right place, will be consigned to history. Surely tackling the ball carrier around the thigh wi...

Re: MOC to be sacked?

Mike Ford is in the big stand today, could he be weighing up whether to say yes if offered a job?

Re: MOC to be sacked?

But who do you get to replace him? Let’s face it, there are not a ready supply of Head Coaches/Directors of Rugby out there. I know Mike Ford is available, but who on here wants him?

Re: Champions Cup Fixtures

This is the same every year. Apparently something to do with TV schedules. Although why it can't be sorted out many weeks in advance smacks of ineptitude. What is gained by waiting so long? It does make any travel plans and time off, for those of us who still have to work, difficult to arrange. The ...

Re: Tigers v SArries

Along with being near Pat Cilliers in the Big stand (Caterpillar, GNC, Met-RX, Holland & Barratt) on Sunday, there was another prop who I'd love to see put his boots back on and have a run out - Julian White. Now there is a leader on the field of the like that we need at times like this. But there a...

Re: Genge out for two months

I may be incorrect here, but if I recall correctly, Ellis was tackled rather highly and clumsily by Ashley Johnson and seemed to be out of sorts afterwards. I haven't seen many replays of this since, but that seems to have been the point at which the injury occurred. I have seen Johnson do this befo...

Re: New JTC membership

I made a comment on this on Twitter and had a reply this morning. JTC is still free. Junior Membership however, "they get a back pack full of goodies (the cap, foam hand, cape, etc) discount off rugby camps and special events throughout the season." So it seems the JTC pen in the final whistle is st...

Re: Congratulations to Cockers!

And another win for Cockers!! This time against Dragons. Just watched the second half on BBC Alba, flicking between that and the Sale v Falcons game where another ex-Tigers coach registered their second win of the season and is now currently top!

Ed Slater injury

I'm just getting a late brunch in Bowden Stores and Ed Slater is in with a cast on his lower right leg.
Anyone know anything about this? And please don't suggest I ask him as I wouldn't want to disturb his family time.

I should've gone to Specsavers (other opticians would do)

Last night I was on the Picadilly line back to St Pancras for my trip back home when I saw who I thought was Graham Kitchener getting on. I was in the same carriage and when we both got off at St Pancras was just about to have a chat when I realised he may not be him. I'm glad I stopped myself askin...
